Run DMC (Rev Run) was a guest speaker at CGA today....lectured son's English class on the similarities between rap and poetry. Gotta love the unexpectedly unique opportunities that son is being presented with!

HAHAHA, that would have been fun! Who does your son have? Dr. Gonzalez? That seems like a thing he would do.

So does that mean the cadets were allowed to come to class with their hats twisted to the side and baggy pants around their waist, um...I mean knees. hehehe Probably Not -officer

P.S.

I think all this waiting is officially making me insane. bye

I love Rev Run! How lucky those kids are. Now that my kids are gone, I don't have an excuse to watch Run's House. He always finishes his show with a moral lesson.

One of my kids was at the Newark Airport and found herself waiting on the curb for a shuttle standing next to Darryl. She was a little star-struck but said he was so nice as a bunch of people recognized him and asked for photos and his autograph.

officer - your comment makes me wonder if you know who Rev Run is...

To answer your question--probably not in the same way ya'll do. I haven't seen Rev Run on tv, I just remember Run DMC when I was younger. Is it the same person? If not, oops "just pay not attention to the "woman" behind the curtain". I'm a little behind the times when it comes to current pop culture...sorry.

I will ask, but that name sounds familiar! Son is pretty closed lipped about stuff these days. I have to dig around very carefully for info. I think he has a lot on his mind. On a happy note, he was contentedly munching on the goodies we sent him the other day. The sugar high helped loosen his lips a bit last night.

officer - same one!

He now has a terrific show (on MTV, I think) though it may be in re-runs. He is really a Reverend and very much a family man 5 or 6 kids (yes, all by the same woman!). Though he lives in a rather plush home in NJ; he works hard at keeping his kids very grounded. His show always ends with him soaking in a bubble bath, recounting the dilemma of the day and a really nice moral lesson.
He is a self-made man who came out of inner city poverty and made a good life for himself and his family.

It was actually D.M.C of Run D.M.C. Just as cool though, i wish i could have gone
