It's March 1st tomorrow...
Who's ready to get some big fat envelopes?

I know a lot of people are anxious for that first BFE. Some of us are still waiting on the second with I-Day information. Good luck to those still waiting on the first though!

Thanks shortbread. You are quite lucky to be in the position you are in right now. We pre-BFE's are extremely jealous. :frown:

I know the feeling well. And so do numerous others. It's great when you're checking the mail on a twice daily basis and the mail only comes once. Keep up hope, the BFE's will come soon.

I hear you bendaddy. I was looking at threads from last year and was getting pumped to see that BFE!

Lets hope they arrive soon!

Hang in there Ben...I know waiting's hard. Maybe try to distract yourself with something to keep yourself occupied - there is so much to do senior year.

If I am planning on bringing my "Acceptance" down to Orientation with me, will i still get the next envelope? The one that has the next load of info after the BFE?

I'm not sure I sent my acceptance in immediately so I really can't say for certain what would happen if you didn't. Personally I would think you wouldn't recieve anymore information until you send in your acceptance because you wouldn't really need anymore information. As far as the academy knows you don't need to be informed of all the stuff for I-day and BCT until after you've decided you'll actually be attending them.

Don't lay around waiting for the mail. Go live life! Senior year is a blast. You'll appreciate it once you get here.

Good luck! Have fun!

lol thanks for the advice you're not the only one I've heard that from. And I'm definitely not sitting around waiting for the mail. It's like a 2 second detour in between the fun. And a brisk walk to the mailbox everyday is pretty fun in itself.

I can see it now. Open the mail: "YOU'VE JUST WON THE PUBLISHER'S CLEARINGHOUSE SWEEPSTAKES. YOU'VE WON $1 MILLION DOLLARS"

Shortbread's Response: "I DON'T CARE ABOUT NO DAMN CLEARINGHOUSE. WHERE'S MY APPOINTMENT??????? ARG............

Yeah, but the funny part (at least in my experience) is that you spend all of this year at home waiting for ANYTHING from the academy - it's so exciting to hear from them, whether a catalog or an acceptance. Then next year, you spend the whole year at the academy, waiting for and being similarly excited by any letters from HOME!

LOL that's basically how it was with any other college acceptance and scholarships. I have friends who were thrilled about any and all acceptances and I was just like meh it's not the one I want but I guess it's ok.

True that... thanks Patrick. There is a TON to do senior year, and if anyone reading this thread happens to be in the same mode of anxiety I am in right now, lets all make a joint effort to lift our heads out of USAFA's pants for a while. :thumb: We've done all we can.

I was the same exact way shortbread! I've been accepted to four other colleges not including the Academy and I didn't really care about them haha. Ohh, and I just got the BFE today, I got the call from my representative Feb. 11 so they're one their way!

Congrats on the other acceptances and the BFE as well! And I'm glad someone understands although I bet you're not the only one.

guys this is completely true. i was on the forums all the time last year trying to find out everything i could about usafa. big mistake. go have fun, hang out with friends, hang out with your dog or whatever. spend lots of time with your family. i couldn't wait to come here last year. March and April just dragged on. but believe me, i regret not spending as much time with the people i care about a whole lot. this will probably be the best 3 months of your life. enjoy them. make sure you use them in a way that you'll be happy about. the memories you have made and especially will make the next few months are what will get you through BCT and 4 dig year, which completely sucks...9 days is the only thing i can think about. and wearing my cardinal's shirt and hat...the academy is going to be a part of almost everything in your life the next 4 years. you'll have plenty of time to spend with it. you'll only see your family and home 4 or 5 times a year and even less once you graduate. enjoy it while you can.

I know that I am wasting time here...but I can't help check DoDMERB every single day and my application status...hopefully all of us hear back in the next week or two...

Personally I figure it's about a minute or two a day that I was going to be on the computer anyways. I can't do fun stuff 24/7 so I might as well check things out when I'm not busy doing other things.

Just to let you know, I dont think that you will find out about your appointment status by looking on the application page. You should find out first by phone call or mail. Either way I doubt it will deter you from looking everyday due to your anticipation.
