So - I've seen that some people have received appointments - congrats - and others have gotten TWEs placing them on the National Waiting List. My question - has anyone received an actual rejection letter yet, or do those not come out until later?

I have no clue to the answer to this question. From what I have seen on this forum, the only "rejections" stemmed from not being qualified medically or something and I think they just know they don't have a chance even if they haven't gotten a rejection letter yet. I know for a fact that I have no chance at USNA anymore because I didn't receive a nomination (well unless magically I get the VP nom) but I haven't received any word from them yet. So I think that they don't send out rejection letters until near the end when most appointments are offered and only a limited amount of appointments are left to be offered on the NWL.

Hopefully this helped? This was all my opinion though...

I've been through the process once before and was rejected. They did in fact send me a letter telling me that I would not be appointment. I believe I received in late April. Hope this helps.

BLS snared,
When you got that letter (assuming this was last year) did it say something about a ROTC scholarship?

It was, in fact, last year. Class of 2013. There was no mention of an ROTC scholarship. That is a different application.

The only thing mentioned about ROTC was that it was another commissioning source that i could pursue. At that point though, the ROTC scholarships were already handed out, the deadline for applications were passed.

Perhaps she, or her child, or whoever she spoke of had a different experience than myself. I can only speak from my knowledge and experience. That said, this did not happen for me.

You can still enroll and participate in an ROTC program, it just won't be on scholarship.

In-state college. Doing ROTC and in the admissions process again.

i think if i dont get in its either in state college or enlisting.

it fell through. =(

I'm very sorry to hear that. It's a very stressful time as you all figure out where you are going. I hope it all works out for you in the long run.

Thank you. Yes I am starting to get very stressed lately thinking about the rest of my life and what I am going to do.
