    Cancer Before BCT

If you can, get them to put it in writing that it is 100% contained. Don't leave any room for doubt, saying something like "I should be free" does in-fact leave some room for doubt and will greatly lower your chances. Just my opinion. Good luck to you.

    Hypothetical seasonal allergies

I believe seasonal allergies are disqualifying for being a pilot in the AF, however waivers are almost always granted for this.

    Patience is a virtue...

I believe Preppies are considered in the Reserves, but on Active orders.

    MA District Competition

If you are just comparing the 9 Congressional Districts of Massachusetts, it's variable every year. It's probably, i.e. just a guess on my part, in the top half of Massachusetts Congressional Districts each year, for competitiveness. Typically the more local military bases you have the more...

    Switching military service

Not exactly what you asked, but you do find many prior service members, from all branches, in the Reserves and National Guard. It is very common there.

    "Rejection Turned Appointment" How???

Three years ago, my DS was also initially rejected, and was fully committed to Embrey-Riddle, then on June 5th I received a cryptic email that the status on his portal changed. This was before there was a waitlist for the USAFA. The email was sent to me, not him, which was strange as he was...

Rejected From USAFA (Air National Guard, Prep School, ROTC Questions)

For the Air National Guard route, it all depends on how soon they could send you to Basic Training and then how soon you could get into the Tech School as well as how long that Tech School is. Then you need to do 90 days of on the job training at your base. My best guess is that it would delay...

    Possibly quitting after graduation

Depends on the civilian college as to what they would accept.

    Today's Appointments

Each Service Academy Prep School, receives a small number of discretionary Nominations they can use for their Prep Students to get into the Service Academy, upon successful completion. Generally who ever gave the cadet a Nomination the year they went to the Prep School, will give it again so...

    Today's Appointments

Yes he did receive a Nomination from our MOC, both the year he was accepted into USAFAPS and for the following year when he was accepted into USAFA. I have heard of people getting accepted in USAFAPS without a nomination, but would agree that it is rare.

Normally they do Not reject a candidate before an USAFAPS appointment.

    Today's Appointments

USAFAPS class of 23, now he is a C3C, class of 27 at USAFA. Yes, he received a rejection, and went full onto plan B. Had his roommates and classes picked out at the plan B school, then I received an email that his portal status had changed. No phone call nor letter. Not sure how they even...

    Today's Appointments

A couple years ago, USAFA did not have a waitlist. My DS initially received a rejection then on June 6th received an appointment to the USAFA Prep School. Now that they have a waitlist, I am not sure it is very common anymore.

I’m a BCT Cadre for class of 2029 AMA

You have to hand carry everything around with you all day, that first day, along with your issued gear, it will already be very heavy. So I would not recommend it, just take what is on the list.

Admission delays due to new DEI rules.

Each nominating source selects their choices by whatever criteria they want, if any choose to use demographics to determine their selections, that is their choice. I do not know if any do so, my guess is some do, but my understanding that is totally up to them. During the parent briefing for...
