The waitlist is relatively new to USAFA, they didn't have it 2 years ago. Each SA does the waitlist a bit differently from each other.

I'd suggest just getting a short/close haircut, but not a buzz cut, a few weeks before, especially if you have a fair complexion. That way your family will still enjoy the WebGuy pics of you getting the haircut.

The A-10 is more survivable as any of these other 4th gen, non stealth aircraft, F-16, F-18, or Apache. Are they going away any time soon? I do see budgetary considerations playing a larger factor in the decision. It is simply cheaper not to operate so many different aircraft types.
