The ultimate question... what are my chances?

The importance of a leadership position is significant. If you are not of the “team” sport, varsity letter type person, get some leadership title somewhere. Try to gain an office position in a extracurricular club or organization. Spend some time in community service efforts and see if you can...

    DQ Missing teeth

...as a "mom". What I KNOW is that the wisdom teeth removal is a BIG requirement before you go to sea. It is NOT required at INDOC, but be aware your future “break” (Fall/Winter/Spring) would be the suggested time to complete the requirement to be ready for “sea term”. I think it does have to...

    TWIC

We have had reports that incoming 2019 Plebe Canididates with new TWIC card requests, are able to recieve them in the mail. This certainly was NOT the case even a year ago. This is good news for many, as for us, the trip to a TWIC office was a four hour drive. 17TexasMom

    DQ Missing teeth

JMoney457, Your question is sort of a tangent of the thread, BUT wisdom teeth extraction before INDOC is almost required. The only way around the "almost" is to have them removed sometime before your sea term on Fall, Christmas or Spring break. Very few exceptions to this rule. The Academy does...

Any one? Any one? Bueller... Bueller...

There have been a few appointments messages on the Parents of 2019 Facebook page. Seems like a few each week. I am sure things will pick up the closer we get to March 1st. Two years ago, that was the "magic" day for my DS. Good luck to all that are waiting.

    Suggestion:

I was hoping that once we moved to the new format that the member Information tab would have the correct allowable drop-down data for the "Class Year" field. I think Prospective-2017 and Prospective -2018 are long past and are definitely 2017 and 2018. Prospective 2019 and above...but I wonder...

Class of 2019 Parents Facebook Page

Yes, all of the above about the FB page can be correct and undeniably comes with it's share of "hand wringing", but sending an offspring to USMMA is a "hand wringing" experience. I refuse to declare "FB vs. this forum" a competition. This forum is the place to attend when the big picture is a...

Class of 2019 Parents Facebook Page

I just wanted to “pile on” here and make sure that any parent(or guardian) that has a possible plebe candidate for the Class of 2019 to feel very welcome to join Facebook page (link above). I know that when my DS was thinking about USMMA I read every single entry in this forum that would help me...
