PFE 230, 4.0 GPA, multiple activities

Agreed. My daughter took the SAT 3 times. Your highest score for each section is submitted. The improvement on each test showed the Academy that she was willing to continually work on improving herself. That's what they are looking for. You got this!

PFE 230, 4.0 GPA, multiple activities

Yes! Consider Self-Prepping! My daughter went to MMI via CGAS, but has a number of friends and classmates at the Academy who self-prepped. If you decide to go that route, I highly recommend staying in close contact with your admissions officer throughout the entire process of choosing a...

    Weight Standards

Getting "taped" is definitely available at the Academy. My DD is a rugby player and though the scale # is always usually the range for her height, she has never had an issue. That said, you will find more success at the Academy if you work on your fitness, including cardio, weight training and...

    Date to report for CGAS

Hi all. My daughter is USCGA Class of 2025 and attended MMI. Congratulations to all on your appointments to the Scholars program. To this day, my daughter credits CGAS with her current success at the Academy. Your time at prep school will translate to confidence and leadership when you set...

    AIM Selections?

My daughter's grades and classes were not as advanced as your son's. But the level of interest she showed, and the amount of contact she had with her admin officer to get feedback on how she could improve her standing made a difference. She worked with her admin officer when choosing her...

    AIM Selections?

Kudos to you for "not driving the bus." Too many parents push their kids and most cadets who feel forced will not stay for the duration. You are doing your son a service by supporting him in this way. Bravo Zulu!

    AIM Selections?

Definitely a big part of the process that USCGA admissions notices is "level of interest" of the applicant. We were lucky enough to live close so that we could attend every admissions event opportunity. Ask your admissions officer about the Genesis weekend as well.

    AIM Selections?

My DD is Cadre for AIM this summer. She also attended AIM few years back and says it was the event that solidified her desire to be at the Academy. Make the most of the week, take it all in, and Congratulations on your acceptance!
