I would either recommend black or army green. I utilized my army green colored one more if that helps!

I can't remember the exact measurements that West Point looks for, so AR670-1 is the best way to stay in standards. (A lot of boots are compliant with these standards). My personal favorite is the Oakley's. They are lightweight, breathable, and feel almost like you're wearing sneakers. However...

Those are great things to put in the ziplock! Also, I found out that the combat boots can hold quite a few things in there too. 550 cord, shoe-shining material, Q-tips, Hair ties, a Gerber, etc. When I reported in, I put my swimsuit, undergarments, and socks in the ziplock bags because you...

When you all get closer to R-day, they will send you a memorandum about it. As long as they are in compliance with AR670-1, you will be all set!

You will receive a book, "Washington's Crossing," but everything else you are expected to buy. They will send you a packing list!

Honestly, besides the duties and responsibilities it's really awesome here. Everyone has a different experience, but what you put into this place is what you get out of it. Make friends, work hard, and challenge yourself! "Cooperate to Graduate"

You will have to buy your own, but they will issue a pair of the most uncomfortable boots you'll wear (once you get here) 😂

To go along with @USMA2026Cadet, there are water buffalos EVERYWHERE. You will have the chance to fill them up. Additionally, when you are on long rucks, you will (most of the time) have two canteens along with the camelback. You should be perfectly fine with water!

Yes! They will issue you a calculator and that is the only one you are allowed to use. If you happen to lose it, they sell a bunch of them in the C-store.

My personal favorites were the Oakleys. They are light weight and feel almost like sneakers. I also like the Under Armor combat boots. They are fairly light weight and are very comfortable. A lot of people are fans of the Garmonts, but I didn't really like the way they felt. (That's just my...

My apologies for the late response. I am not too familiar with the camps, but my best guess would be that your DS will be able to ask whatever questions he wants to actual cadets during the camp. It will give him the opportunity to hear for himself exactly what cadet life is for him. As for the...

    CFA worries

One of the best things that helped me with my B-Ball throw was utilizing a full range of motion. My score was 53ft (female). I have relatively short arms, so I learned to twist my body where I would take the ball, nestled it between my wrist and forearm and extend my arm from the back of my left...

Yes and no, No, we didn't do any weighted runs for morning PT. The most weighted "running" we would do was our buddy team live fire practices where we would practice 5 second rushes with about 15lbs of equipment on. It was very minimal running. It was more like, stand up, sprint, then get in...

That's awesome to hear!! He is now in the boat to be triple qualified. Once West Point sees that you are academically, medically, and physically qualified + a nomination, your chances have or receiving an admission have increased. However, do not take this as you have done all you can. Continue...

Love this!!! @MarTac this is very good advice. It is great to hear the perspectives of many, so you know what your weaknesses and strengths may be. For me, I realized that: 1.) Time Management is critical. I spend more time preparing for my higher credit hour courses than I do with the less...
