They are still called laundry marks. They are still in that same format as well. Just pack whatever is on the packing list, and if it didn't tell you on the checklist to mark your items prior to you arriving, then I wouldn't do it quite yet.
I mean, isn't it a little late for us to get in touch with the officials we'll need nominations from? In-processing for us is right around the corner..for we priors anyway.
I guess what I'm asking for is an approximate distance. I'm aware that most people here won't be able to provide this...but I was hoping someone would be able to.
So how far away from the prep school is it do you know? I'm not sure where base housing is in relation to the prep school (don't have my map that came with the package in front of me at the moment).
My orders came through in a decent amount of time. I can't remember how fast though. The only issue I bumped into was that I wasn't aware that I needed amendments to authorize the return of my HHG's back to my home of record. It took an additional week or so for the amendments to come through...
I agree with Christcorp 100%. Nowhere in your checklist does it tell you to worry about what to bring/how to pack/and so on and so forth for one reason and one reason only: you haven't received an appointment yet. I see you're prior-enlisted, so I'm sure you know the key to "getting stuff done"...
Does anybody know when the we priors will be receiving our "Instructions to Prep School Appointee Packages" in the mail as well as further information about the plane tickets from our bases to the Academy?
Feedback:
1. Would you say the classes are pretty rigorous?
2. This is what I'm anticipating the most, I can't wait to see where the priors will stand as far as BMT goes... Should be veeeery interesting (I'm getting flashbacks from BMT; I was an element leader).
3. Makes sense I guess...
1. So what is a typical day actually like?
2. Does anybody know why we (priors) have to report a whole week earlier than the civilians?
3. Do we ever have interaction with USAFA/Cadets other than attending their football games etc.?
4. What extracurricular activities are offered to us...
