    AROTC 4 year scholarship averages

My son was a 3 year winner. He scored a 29 on the ACT and 3.3U/3.5W GPA. He scored near the top on the PT test. I'm sorry I can't remember the score.

NROTC- how do they tell you?

My DS received a paper thin rejection letter in the mail. No call, no nothing.

    The dreaded "Hold" Status

Wow. This thread is one of the most informative post regarding "Holds" I have read yet. The lawsuit "Domine v. Kumar, 2012" really gives some useful insight on the admissions process. I sure hope we're not one of those families waiting until mid-May to get an answer. At least, we have an ROTC...

    AROTC 3rd Board...Place to Wait

It's a little after0 03:00 AM in the morning. My DS just discovered he was looking under the wrong tab in the portal. Each time he logged in throughout the evening and night he was met with a blank screen. There were no words like "boarded" or "winner" - just an empty screen. We had all but...

    AROTC 3rd Board...Place to Wait

My son's portal shows no status whatsoever. It never has. Not "boarded", not anything. Is something wrong?

The ultimate question... what are my chances?

You have VERY similar stats and extracurricular activities as my DS except he scored a 29 on the ACT. He is currently on Hold status patiently waiting for a spot to open up. However, I would think your father being alumni would give you an edge.

    AROTC 3rd Board...Place to Wait

Believe me, I don't have much confidence in their process.

Will this be our lucky day?

    "HOLD" status letter

Yep, we got ours last month. If you look at the USMMA's admission statistics between those that "Met Selection Criteria" and "Offered Appointments", there's a 50-60% chance of acceptance. That's not too discouraging I suppose.

*Army* What happens to non-scholarship candidates? *Army*

Wow. Thank you for the valuable information Jcleppe. The picture is becoming much clearer. I wish we had found this thread at the beginning of the process. My son has done exactly as you have described in your post. He listed and applied to some of the most competitive AROTC programs: Georgetown...

*Army* What happens to non-scholarship candidates? *Army*

Thanks for the info. It confirms some of the other posts I have read. My DS scored a 29 on the ACT, 3.3U/3.5W GPA , Team Captain wrestling (State placer), Sea Cadet leadership, perfect score on his interview, excellent APFT, and was still passed over on the second board. What else does he need...
