Has anyone had Email contact with their 2016 cadets?

Ha ha ha... Well I guess this is what I get for not reading the ROE's. Parents, sorry for the misinformation. I just found it strange because it's never been like this in the past. Here it is cut and dry: 1.4.Fourth-class cadets are NOT authorized media prior to Parents’ Weekend, with the...

Has anyone had Email contact with their 2016 cadets?

Hi Everyone, While phones may be a privilege that varies squadron to squadron, websites cannot be limited by squadron, but only blocked by the USAFA filters. Facebook and civillian email accounts CANNOT be limited by squadron staff. Note however, that video chatting is kind of a grey area...

    Soaring vs UAS

AVT, I'm currently a soaring IP and wouldn't trade it for anything. I don't know how to say this without sounding biased, but teaching someone how to fly an airplane is one of the most rewarding things the academy lets you do. Among the things you get to do in upgrade: fly a sailplane BY...

    cross commissioning/ Special Forces

I'd heard of the one-for-one swap rumor as well, but it's actually not true. We had a career day a while back and I went to the Army careers meeting. One of the AOCs who helps with cross commissioning told us that the Army will determine each year how many cadets it would like to accept for...

    Bible/picture at basic cadet training

Yeah, Eagle, you're right. All in all here, it's usually best to just follow the rules. Every now and then there will be opportunities in which you're pretty much supposed to break the rules (quad rave, hall brawl, etc.) For the most part, however, you should never pass up a good opportunity to...

    Bible/picture at basic cadet training

You're right, I wouldn't want to corrupt an incoming "saintly" basic with such thinking. The academy will do that for them once they get here.

    Bible/picture at basic cadet training

Bringing a few pictures in your bible is not a big deal... If anything I regret not bringing them, because 1) they would have helped and 2) MOST of the people in my squad did. I guarantee bringing a picture or two will not make you "lose sight of the core values" or whatever other buzz words...

    Class of 2014 Laptop

It says it has built in videocam and mic for video chat. Can you use that feature freshman year or no? I would be using gmail chat.

    Bring it, or leave it?

I remember them saying at orientation that you should bring a pair of contacts and put them in your storage bag so that you can have them right after. So it seems like either way is fine.

    Eye Glass Prescription

It should be in the packet you recived from the 10th Medical Group with all your other medical forms. Hopefully you've recieved that by now, because it has other important forms. If you still haven't recieved it, I would give them a call, their number should be listed in the instructions to...
