    Q & A - Norwich University

Love reading these posts. I remember back in 2014 when I was a high school senior and researching Norwich University on this very same forum. I had the intention of going to Norwich for a year then re-applying to the academies but ended loving it so much that I stayed. Fast forward from...

    Future Leader Camp?

Hello! I attended FLC back when I was in highschool which helped solidify my decision to attend Norwich. While you might not get to see the Corps of Cadets or chat with the ROTC cadre you get to experience alot of other things. The FLC cadre are upperclassmen and essentially treat FLC like a...

    Exchange student at academy

AFROTC cadets can get the opportunity to do an exchange semester at USAFA. I believe there is only 4-5 slots per year.

    Norwich AFROTC question **HELP**

Has he gone through Field Training? I would definitely tell your son to get in contact with his AFROTC Chain of Command ASAP. If he doesn't I would even give them a call to explain the situation since maybe they can sit him down and talk it out. When I was at Norwich this happened a few times...

    Norwich Q&A

From my previous experience generally they do not. Unless you live close to Norwich or are willing to fork up extra money to come back up for 1 day.

    Norwich Q&A

Can't speak to the current cellphone policy for Rooks but when I was a rook we only had cellphones once a week on Sundays for 10 minute phone calls. Once I became a cadre member 2 years later, rooks could use them as much as they wanted on "weekends" only and had to secure them in there desks...

    NROTC at Norwich?

As a graduate, I will agree that the immediate area is in the middle of nowhere but it isn't to say that the area isn't nice. If you are a outdoors person the Norwich campus will be right up your alley. You are hard pressed to have a school that owns a former ski mountain that students can use...

    Citadel v. Norwich. Input please.

Norwich does have its own mountain across the street from campus. Its great for cross-country skiing but its about a 30 minute hike to the top of the mountain just to snowboard/ski down it in 5 minutes.

    Citadel v. Norwich. Input please.

As for things to do, I hope he likes the outdoors. While I was a cadet I had a season pass to sugarbush mountain all 4 years there and went snowboarding probably 10-20 times a season. As far as traveling im suprised he did not mention Montreal, Canada since its only 2.5 hours away from campus.

    Citadel v. Norwich. Input please.

Glad to hear that you are considering Norwich! I was in your DS's same situation 6 years ago. Had applied to USNA and USAFA with Norwich as a backup. Ended up waitlisting to both places with hopes of reapplying after my freshman year at Norwich. Norwich definitely grew on me during that one...

    Challenge Coins

My collection is still small since I am only a baby lieutenant but I still think these two will always be some of the coolest in my collection. Got the first one after completing my mil internship at the White House from POTUS. Got the second one after my first trip on Air Force One.
