MIT is only allowing seniors to be on campus. The campus is closed to freshmen, sophomores and juniors and so therefore only online classes for these students. So what happens to the kids on scholarship in the ROTC program? My DD is a junior with an NROTC scholarship.

So hubby and I are in disagreement. I say that you owe the Navy 5 years (minimum) of active duty and that time- that 5 years- does NOT count toward a 20 year retirement, if our daughter wanted to make the Navy her career. Hubby says the 5 years required to "pay back" the scholarship DO count...

So what dates do you think EAST will be? Your previous post mentioned 7/22, while I thought it began 7/10.

Any update on CORTRAMID EAST dates?

My DD is supposed to be going to CORTRAMID East. She has not received ANY info about it. We thought it is supposed to begin 7/10. But she has no info...no travel info, a list of things to bring, etc. Is everyone who is going to East in the same boat ( lol, pun intended)?

So my daughter's school is blaming the Navy, saying the Petty Officer who was trying to set up the NROTC presentation at the Senior Awards ceremony was "disorganized" and the Navy Petty Officer is saying my daughter's school was not accommodating and could not provide details. But in the end...

I've searched thru the forum site and the internet, but can't seem to come up with an answer. Does anyone know the answer as to how many NRPTC scholarships are awarded per year? Additionally, anyone know how many applicants NROTC gets per year?

anyone who can shed some light on this- what it entails? My DD's guidance counselor got a call from "someone in the Navy" and said the award ceremony would have to be approved by the school district's administration.

DD just got an email with confirmation of her NROTC scholarship transfer. Does she need to do anything further? She already "accepted" the scholarship when she got it in February (while it was placed at a different institution). does she need to "re-accept" it...or do anything else? Thank you!

Yes, GaTech is very integrated and made the decision to keep it high on DDs list very easy. Your thoughts and process is exactly the same thoughts and processes we are thinking right now. VaTech does not have the same high ranking engineering programs as some of the other choices DD has, but...
