    RPI or Virginia Tech?

NavyHoops and kinnem, thank you. That is quite reassuring. I got that feeling, but I really needed to actually hear it (or, in our case, see it) from someone with more experience than myself. I'm going to try my absolute best and work my butt off to be the best officer I can be.

    RPI or Virginia Tech?

Thanks for the advice, NavyHoops. And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one... But, are Navy/Marine Officers from USNA generally regarded as "better" Officers than those from civilian colleges' NROTC programs?

    RPI or Virginia Tech?

I feel weird about this... I already feel like I'll be unhappy at RPI. Ever since I thought about applying to college, I envisioned myself at USNA. That is the place where I felt I would fit in best. I'm finding it hard to get excited about attending RPI. It's not that I don't want to get...

Second Time on the Roller Coaster

I have officially begun my second ride on the roller coaster. I submitted my preliminary application, and will submit my deposit to my plan-B school next week. I plan to get the CFA done this summer before I leave for college and also have my HS transcripts and letters of rec submitted before...

    RPI or Virginia Tech?

Thank you all... I have decided that I will be submitting my deposit to RPI next week. They have a NucEng program, whereas VT does not. So I guess that is the best option for me.

    RPI or Virginia Tech?

Thank you. I have my fingers crossed for an appointment next year. I promise, I won't give up "the ship". :)

    RPI or Virginia Tech?

Well, with the arrival of the TWE and all, I have to send a deposit somewhere. Right now, it's between RPI and VT. I'm leaning toward RPI because they gave us the most affordable financial aid package out of all the places I was accepted. But I feel like the Naval Academy would rather see...

Mailbox stalking has ended for me. I received the TWE today. I guess I'll have to settle for RPI. I just started my application for USNA class of 2020... hopefully this time next year I'll have a thicker envelope in my mailbox.

    ROTC at RPI?

Oh goodness, there's an ROTC forum; I feel a little stupid now! Haha. I must've missed it when I was going down the page to look for a place to post this. Thank you!

    ROTC at RPI?

I didn't realize that either; when I received 4 waivers in the mail after the second time I took the SAT, I assumed it was a mistake, and the third time I was pleasantly surprised! Thank you! And I do not believe that ACT has as similar program. Also, getting a fee waiver for the ACT is...

    ROTC at RPI?

SDMom: I was granted 9 fee waivers through the Questbridge program (I'm a QB Finalist) and 4 fee waivers each time I took the SATs, for a total of 21 fee waivers. After narrowing down my list, I found that I only needed 19. Trust me, if I'd had to pay for the applications, I would've only...

    ROTC at RPI?

Nope, I had application fee waivers for every single application. I paid a total of $0 to apply for college.

Blah. Got an email about 10 minutes ago saying that I was not selected for the NROTCMO scholarship. This, coupled with 8 Ivy rejections yesterday really just makes this week a terrible week. I was sure I at least met all the requirements, if not surpassed them... Oh well, what's done is done...
