    Questions about recruited athletes

If Coach Monken wants you, he'll get you. I was on another D1 Team (Rifle) and it was similar. Coach wanted me and I didn't get a nomination from Congress. Got a SUPT Nomination instead. As far as cadet life, you won't drill and you'll likely have study hall during duties but if you're available...

Accepted after five cycles of admissions to USMA. I'm a senior in ROTC who would start over.

Or didn’t want to find it. If I ever have a statue at USMA it will be right behind his as we are running away from it to go spin Sedgewick's Spurs (which worked for 67% of the three of us that did that night)

    Blister prevention, best tips?

Knee High Pantyhose under good socks. Haven't bought them in a while but I have never had a blister from wearing boots including the issued boots.

What are my chances for admission at the moment?

What are your scores from the Matksmanship team and do you shoot sporter or precision? If you shoot precision and have your own equipment that could be another avenue providing scores are on par.

    Beast 1 SL-AMA

For the OP good advice given so far. I'm far removed from Beast but it happens every year. It's not supposed to be easy. Don't quit.

USMA or USAFA I want to hear opinions of those that have been/are going

At the end of the day, both are good places to be from. I had a USAFA cadet as my roommate Cow year and still keep up with him. He's a KC-10 pilot and just bought his own plane. It's also a decision that no one can make for you. Try to talk to grads from each on the phone or in person. There's...

    Question regarding 2024 boot list

I went through Beast 10 years ago but we were required to show up with one pair of boots broken in and one pair of low quarters. We were then issued our second pair of each. I do not know what the current guidance is. However, on boots, go Garmont. Her feet will thank you.

    USMA vs USAFA

Neither is a bad option. And I'll agree with what has been said above about non-pilot fields. When I started at West Point, I wanted to be Armor. About Cow year that changed and I wanted to be a logistician. I really love it. I did my platoon time in a light infantry battalion doing distribution...

Class of 2024 boots and low quarters

Tldr: Garmont is the way to go. This is going to be a little lengthy so buckle up. I've had all three brands of boots. My Beast boots were Belleville back in the day when you showed up with what basic training Soldiers were issued. Those boots finally gave up at CLDT between my Cow and Firstie...

Summer Schools like Air Assault Before Transferring to WP

Passing Survival Swimming is a requirement. You can be a Day 0 Drop after being voluntold to go to AASLT and graduate. Reference the Army's Bus Driver Course graduation rates. To the OP, just wait. If WP doesnt give you the opportunity you can work your way into a unit where it helps or is a...

    Comma Club/December Grad

It can be a whole host of things from a medical issue to an honor board. I fell somewhere in the middle. For me, ramification was I worked the CST TOC all summer (a valuable experience) and was moved back a yeargroup for promotion. Outside of West Point, it has not affected me.

    Burglary and West Point Ring

I would say get the insurance at the Academy. My Firstie year I went hunting and moved my mountain bike from the cab of my truck to the bed. I got back to Clinton lot and forgot to move my truck that night (Sunday into Monday). I really didnt want to walk hours for unauthorized parking and when...

    Am I competitive?

Go ahead and start applying. I see some of what gets in now and am glad I'm ten years behind them because even with athletics, it'd be a tough row to get in for me. The Army as a whole is moving towards the whole Warrior Scholar model. This year all Captains in Career Course had to take the GRE...

    Comma Club/December Grad

Just joined to answer a few questions I had input for. I thought the Army had a lot of acronyms but daggum this place has it beat. Anyways, I'm a 2014 grad that took an extended stay because 54 months is better than 47.
