    NROTC vs. Marine Option

You can request to switch between Navy and Marine Option. However, your chances are better if you make up your mind now. The further you get into it the less likely they will want to switch you.

    Presentation of ROTC Scholarship?

I actually have a video of my presentation, it was in a small classroom of my NJROTC class instead of say a more formal presentation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkCbaWBP8nE

Marine Option NROTC - Marine Reserves?

So I've been wondering... I've been told that when you're sworn in to NROTC, you become a member of the Naval Reserves. My question is that if you're a Marine Option Midshipman, do you become a member of the Marine Reserves? I'm clueless.

    Presentation of ROTC Scholarship?

I got a check for my scholarship, but the school wouldn't allow any of the ROTC scholarships to be presented during our awards day because they claimed they didn't have time. But all in all we had one Marine Option NROTC Scholarship, Two NROTC Scholarships, One Army Scholarship, and One Air...

    Marine Option NROTC

Hmm... I think what you need to look at is that if it comes down to you and another candidate of equal value, but you have down as your major "underwater basket weaving" and the other candidate has "Mechanical Engineering," then the other candidate will probably get the scholarship. Another...

    Marine option ROTC Question

You DO NOT have to have a 1st class PFT. I don't remember my exact number, but I do know it was a 2nd class. They expect you to be physically ready to participate in the program. NROTC gets you up to that 1st class performing ability when it comes to OCS after your junior year. Obviously...

    NROTC

I have heard of people changing during college. This is an option, call any NROTC program at any college and ask.

    NROTC

I got a Marine Scholarship, so if you have any questions just let me know and I'll answer whatever I can. It is more competitive simply because the Marines don't have as many slots as the Navy or Army or Air Force. The Few The Proud: There you have it. The Few. So yeah, if you have any questions...

    NROTC vs NROTC Marine option

I went with the Marine Option and several of my friends went for the Navy Option. During the application process one major difference is, in fact, that with the Navy Option you will NOT take a PFT (That is, during the application process - When you actually get into the program I'm sure you...

    Kidney Stone???

I had a kidney stone as well in October 2007. DoDMERB did request to see those records from the hospital, but I was not disqualified for that. You should ask Larry Mullen. You can find his posts throughout DoDMERB discussions. He is very helpful when it comes to these issues.

    Scholarship Application Process

I was in a similar situation a year ago. I applied to the Naval Academy and signed on under the Foundation Program (sorta like NAPS). Unfortunately I was not medically qualified as a result of poor vision. After that was settled, I resorted to my backup...NROTC Marine Option. My first...

    Waviers?

Hey, I'm in the same boat. Trying to get an eye waiver. My eyesight is -6.5 and -6.75 From my personal research I have found that the numbers required for a waiver are those greater than -6.0. That is for the Naval Academy and NROTC. I was told by the Naval Academy that with my...

    Waiting List

I'm in SC Congressional District 3. I received notification about the waiting list like two months ago or something like that. I'm qualified for admission, but am waiting to hear. I have a presidential nomination to West Point. Managed to get Sen Graham's for Naval Academy, but unfortunately...

    NROTC Marine Option Eyesight Waiver...

NROTC Marine Corps boards meet this week

Thanks. Just have to get passed the waiver review board. I have -6.75 and -6.5 eyesight. Kept me out of the USNA Foundation Program. How's this...I sign the paperwork for the Naval Academy Foundation, then two weeks later hear that I won't get an eye waiver...
