What style of pushups are required for the college ROTC?

Tc 3-22.20 "the push-up event measures the endurance of the chest, shoulder, and triceps muscles. On the command 'get set,' assume the front-leaning rest position by placing your hands where they are comfortable for you. Your feet may be together or up to 12 inches apart. When viewed from...

How does ROTC Cadet receive designated branch?

I think you misunderstood me. I am not saying they should "throw" LDAC. In my program it was all layed on the line for us from the start. Everyone knows the loop holes and has an understanding of how to war game the system based off of the last 5 years OML results. I have yet to meet anyone who...

How does ROTC Cadet receive designated branch?

Its all a game of numbers. I know a couple of people who ended up getting "S"s at LDAC who got there first choice of branch becuase they were in the 51% percentile on the AD OML. Had they gotten an "E" they would have most likely been in the dead zone. Bottom line do your best and accept that...

    LDAC 2012

I thought the same. Last year year we sent a guy that failed twice and had to get two waivers from the regimantal commander in order to stay at LDAC. He ended up with an overall "n". He commissioned Air Defense Artillery in the National Guard. So yes some people do make it through.

    does scholarshp guarantee active duty?

If you are awarded a 4 year scholarship your contract states tht you are enlisted I the reserves you are non deployable. You are not guaranteed active duty, only west pointers and senior military college (VMI, Citadel, and others) are out right given active duty provided their commander...

How does ROTC Cadet receive designated branch?

Branching I just went through the accessions process this year. It went well for me, I accessed active duty and branched infantry, stationed at Ft. Drum. Both were my top choices. The only advice I can give on the subject is put in the time and effort early to adviod being disappointed when...

    Army ROTC Scholarship PFT

I see many new cadets come in that think they can do 100 pushups in 2min Then they are disappointed when they only receive 65-70 points in that event. You need to do Pushups to standard! (ie. when you go to Airborne or Air Assault you will need to be preforming at the standard or else your...

    What's happening with Army ROTC?

I have seen that in recent years the amount of scholarships has gone down. When I was going through the process in 2008 there seemed to be a huge amount of 4 year scholarships to present to people. Last year there was a massive shortage and many kids who would have gotten a scholarship during my...

    Regular vs. Reserve Comission

For Army ROTC Cadets many things go into whether you get Active, Reserve, or Guard. Most guys want active but some end up going reserve, most guard guys go guard. Your evaluation at LDAC, PMS letter, and accessions points(Airborne, Air Assault) all go into it. Plus you GPA. this is very...

    Marquette arotc problem!!!!!!

CPT Metz told me that if ROTC wants you that ROTC will basically make sure you get in. They would not give you a scholarship if they didn't think you could get in. I applied last year and was offered a 4 year scholarship but declined it to go to another school.
