yes many people on hold don't get in the first year. They keep everyone on hold that has the minimum requirements until the class is completely filled. I did not get in last year and was on hold until late June. I got in this year though when I reapplied.
USMMA offers a limited number of appointments per state depending on population. After they send out all the state appointments they accept the next highest candidates from any state. So seeing alot of Texas means they their might not be many Texas spots left. And they do not offer 40 Texas...
I would like to say that I was rejected from a service academy last year. I decided it was the only place I wanted to go so I decided to attend a prep school as a post grad to get my GPA and test scores up. I got my GPA up and my test scores got better by a couple of points. I reapplied again...
I started this thread having the same thing happen to me. It took 3 days for it to change and for me to get the news that I had been accepted. Contacting your admissions officer never hurts. Wishing you best of luck and hopefully see you this upcoming summer!
I always thought it meant Letter of Appointment, that is why I put LOA in appointment description above. If I got it wrong then I apologize because I did not receive a letter of assurance, I received my appointment letter.
I think what the others were saying is that applying earlier allows for your son's application to get reviewed sooner. And if he is an outstanding student who is very competitive he could possibly have been accepted early. Their is nothing wrong with applying later except you have to wait...
It is blank where it says application status in my portal. A few days ago it said app on file but changed and has been like this for 3 days or so. Can anyone tell me why this is? Thank you!
