    A Belated Introduction

I lurked for a long while here before registering a year ago, learning much of value for myself and my son, who is now a plebe at USMA. As is obvious, he plays baseball. I have, if not enjoyed, been enlightened by much I read here. I thank those with military experience on this forum for...

    West Point Rugby Team Disbanded

Seems like a pattern of crackdowns... Army baseball coach fired after sexual harassment probe Times Herald-Record Published: 2:00 AM - 09/25/13 Army baseball coach Joe Sottolano, the Academy's all-time winningest coach, was fired on Tuesday for alleged inappropriate behavior toward a staff...

    I've Heard Rumors

I would call the Dean's Office I have a friend who did exactly what you describe at USNA. She got her Bachelors and Masters in the 4 years (she is brilliant and now a PhD in Nuclear Physics). It's worth asking those in a decision-making capacity if USMA ever does this too.

    Baseball at USMA

The Biggest PRO is... you get to play for Coach Sotollano. You will not find a better coach anywhere - not only for baseball but teaching you about how to be a standup guy. Combine that with the rest of the USMA and there is no better training to be a leader of quality.

    Confused about Process and Timing

    Confused about Process and Timing

Daaltaraan - yes we figured as much but wondering if it is too late given it appears ROTC aps openned Feb 2012. How many to apply to/for in part depends on the probabilities at this point for WP.

    Confused about Process and Timing

My son is an official recruited athlete, with high academics (top 25% of USMA applicants), a nomination (competitive), and has passed his medical. The only thing remaining is he is retaking his CFA on Monday. The first time he wasn't thrilled with his scores (esp. pullups - he is 220 lbs and...

    Petreaus resigns

Timing.... So OK, it appears he's been cheating for a while. Timing of his resignation still strikes me as odd - to taint his upcoming testimony? Maybe I am getting too political for the forum on this one, sorry, couldn't help myself. Thought you experienced folks might have more insights or...

    Petreaus resigns

VERY VERY Odd I find this news extremely odd for two reasons - firstly since when has a CIA Director ever had to resign for this level of offense? As if Petraeus is the first?!? Secondly - the timing of this is just too weird - Friday late pm? That is when news that someone wants to bury...

My son plays baseball. Congratulations! I hope my son will be one too! He is in thrall to WP at this point. Unfortunately we feel so far behind on the whole process. We have no military in our family (although my son always played live action military games with his friends) so have been...

What is the Process for the DODMeRB?

My son has completed all sections of his academy applications except his essays, which he is still tweaking, and his CFA which he may take again if his prospective coach advises (he is a recruited athlete) depending on whether it is good enough or not. He tried to go onto the DODMeRB...

    regarding LOEs

Thanks for the quick response. So when and to whom are LOEs issued? How much of the application process has the candidate typically completed to receive one? In all the research my son and I have done, we never heard mention of this.

    regarding LOEs

Sirs, a dumb question - what is an LOE?
