    Prep schools

Yes, you can independently apply and "self-prep". I would say that completing this program successfully will increase your odds of getting an appointment; however, there are no guarantees. Each school may have its own stats of percentages of self-prep cadets who apply to SA's each year and are...

Short answer - Yes. You can accept your USAFA appointment and then if you are pulled from the waitlist at USNA you can contact USAFA to decline.

    LOA/Acceptance!

Just from experience, it usually takes a couple of weeks from satisfying the requirements of an LOA to your portal updating with an appointment. If they have already contacted your congressmen that is a good sign the process is underway! Congratulations! Enjoy the holidays!

    Concerns about ALO Interview

My interviews typically last about an hour +/-. I normally will schedule a short pre-interview with the candidate to discuss the actual interview and answer any questions they may have since unfortunately many have had little contact with their Mentor ALOs. As Steve mentioned above, I try to...

Football team keeps on winning! (5-0 as of today)

I'd say close to zero for the playoff unless there is a bloodbath in the top 10 where most schools have 2 losses. An undefeated AF does have a great shot at getting the Group of 5 slot for a New Year's Bowl game playing a big-name Power 5 school ranked in the top 10.

    Anti-Affirmative Group Sues Naval Academy

Losing 100 cadets in the first year may seem a little high but is not abnormal. Most classes will lose ~150 or so from I Day and graduate classes of ~950-975. The USAFA Class of 23' lost over 200 before graduation.

Who can administer my CFA test?

High School Coach, High School PE Teacher, JROTC/ROTC instructor, Active Duty Officer, ALO (though we are discouraged unless there is no other option)

    Graduation Fact Sheet: c/o 2023

It was a little higher than in previous years. This was the Doolie class that was sent home during COVID in the middle of recognition, missed much of the Summer activities between 4/c and 3/c years, and came back to heavy lockdowns in the dorms, mask mandates, and remote learning from your dorm...

    Graduation Fact Sheet: c/o 2023

I was fortunate enough to work with 2 of the 3 cadets who cross-commissioned into the Navy from USAFA this year and learned a lot about the current process. There were 9 initial applicants for Cross Commissioning into the Navy for the class of 2023 but only 3 completed their applications and...

    USAFA & Space Force

This year there were just over 200 applicants for ~100 slots. The different jobs in the SF have different levels of competitiveness. For example, I was told there were only 4 cyber warfare officers selected this year so you would need to be one of the top 4 cadets requesting that job class to...
