    USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

I think you can accept the waitlist position and the USMMA position. A classmate of my current Mid had same thing...was waitlisted, accepted a spot at another service academy and then offered a USNA spot roughly 3 weeks before I-Day. A lot of scrambling to finish the PTR packet but got it done.

    Class of 23 & 24 Shotgunning

Just reporting what I hear from my Mid who is one of the sea trials squad leaders/trainers in his company. He says they are doing ST as current company. Agree that it would be a good opportunity for team building.

    Class of 23 & 24 Shotgunning

I would think that they would do Sea Trials with current companies, as that is how they have been training...but that is just speculative. I do know that 2/C involved in Leadership for Plebe Summer are not leaving current companies until reform - so 2/C and1/C Detailers will stay together in...

    USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

Not always a waste....many families still consider putting a deposit down at a Plan B school to protect against the possibility of injury before I-Day. Lots of kids with a last minute broken bone at the Send Off volleyball game or the family beach vacation. These kind of accidents postpone...

    Invite to Tour

I would say that since the travel doesn’t pose a hardship, you should accept any offer for more access/exposure for your Candidate. Agree with other posters that the risks posed are lesser than most everyday interactions outside of your home.

    SA 'Finding' a nomination

Just curious, did the MOC‘s committee know that your son had received an LOA from USNA? Had that been added to his file or mentioned in the interview process?

My Plebe Has Thoughts of Leaving USNA

Yep, and this would be a great time period to plan a visit, if you can swing it. Especially if you can be there for MLK or Presidents Day weekend as your Plebe will have a little bit more liberty than a normal weekend.

BGO assigned by School or Home address

@SAparent2023 My boarding school son was assigned a BGO from our home state. He and his BGO agreed that it might be helpful to have the BGO be in the same state as his high school, but we were never able to get a transfer initiated by his Admissions Officer at usna. In the end it worked out...

    NASS

My DS passed his CFA while at NASS last year and was "one and done". It was nice to have that piece of the file completed, and he was glad he had spent a bit of time preparing for it. He didn't go crazy, but made sure he was familiar with all the components and that he could put a decent...

    Candidate Visit Weekend (CVW)

All of Parkhurst89's suggestions, plus Preserve and The Boatyard Bar & Grill are great spots. If you and your wife want a special dinner night out, Cafe Normandie is lovely. And Iron Rooster if craving a burger and fries!
