    BCT 2013

You'll show up on I-Day, stand in a hundred different lines for different stages of the processing, and then you'll eventually end up in your squadron with your bag of stuff, when the opportunity presents itself, just ask the cadre about what to do with your comp shorts. The contraband...

    BCT 2013

I brought black, either bring black or white. It is important to note that whatever bag you bring to I-day, you WILL NOT be allowed to wear on your person, you must carry it in your left hand so pack as light as possible.

    BCT 2013

You heard wrong, very wrong. BCT will rock your and everyone in the class of 2017's world. To answer the OP's question, bring SEVERAL pairs of compression shorts, they are a must when wearing ABU's just about everyday, have a good amount of cash to buy basic toiletries and room cleaning supplies...

    Soaring!

Your first opportunity to get in a glider will be during BCT, you will have one day in Jack's Valley dedicated to exploring the different airmanship activities, the highlight of that is a short glider ride. If your lucky, the IP may let you have the controls briefly. Other than that you will not...

    Response to offer of appointment

This is very true and I definitely second everything he is saying, don't go and then quite because you don't like it, stealing someone's spot who is dying to be here is a terrible thing, and I have had the displeasure of seeing first hand. On the other hand, evaluate your reasons for wanting to...

    White compression shorts/underwear

What is your source on that? Last year during 2016's basic we were allowed ones that were white, black, or blue, as long as they were solid and not faddish. I personally wore black through all of basic, and there were several others who wore the colors mentioned above.

    How are squadrons decided?

It is completely random. However, your basic squadron and flight determine your academic year squadron. This year there are 5 flights per basic squadron. Aggressors: A Flight: Squadron 1 B Flight: Squadron 2 C Flight: Squadron 3 D Flight: Squadron 4 E Flight: Squadron 5 And so on up to 40...

transportation to airports - Thanksgiving etc.

We are not allowed to leave until we have our rooms checked by our AOC/AMT on Saturday the 17th, that check begins a little after 0600. However, we also have a mandatory breakfast formation that day. My squad's AMT advised us that we shouldn't buy tickets for departure prior to 1100, and he said...

Has anyone had Email contact with their 2016 cadets?

Exactly, and that is incorrect about no media until recognition, it is until parent's weekend as mandated by Wing Staff, and then I believe it is squad discretion.

    Stuff to bring on I-Day

Is there a size restriction on personal stationary? For example would standard college-ruled notebook paper be ok?

    Stuff to bring on I-Day

Another question, are small personal keepsakes allowed? Such as wallet sized photos or a journal?
