Report: PSU disregarded safety and welfare of children/victims

Preach it Sister! PDB88- PSU admin weren't thinking about future "children" attending on scholarship or full freight tuition, when they covered up for sicko sandusky now were they? Were they concerned with their beloved football program only? Yep! In fact, NO ONE was thinking of any child...

    End of Plebe Summer

Remember too that in order to experience NASS, a candidate needs to be accepted to the program. Not every kid is accepted to NASS, or can afford to go, bad timing, etc...therefore it's not a 'must do'. NASS is not required by the Academy and plenty of kids get Appointments without...

Travel from Groton after sub cruise

engineer- I'm sure your Mid will figure it out, however, let your Mid Kid know PVD is infinitely easier to get to and closer than BDL when booking a flight. Especially if time is of the essence in getting there to catch a flight.

Official USAFA Class of 2016 Appointment thread

Congratulations to you em23! The year my kiddo went to USNA, ('07), 3 kids went to USAFA, 2 to USMA and 2 to USNA from the same high school. Largest number in school history and still stands. All graduated from their Academies in '11 and to date, are successful in their respective military...

    Contacting your Counselor

I am absolutely floored reading the number of PARENTS who call their kids Academy counselours and or MOC's offices. Unbelieveable. My kid would have been mortified had I done that.

A Redeye is what mine took. Depending where in CA you live and your proximity to a major airport, if you end up at the Academy, going back a day earlier or Redeyes may be in your future. :thumb:

    Anyone still waiting out there?

That was posted by someone with unofficial information from 'persons who would know.' I believe the DOA is THE source for admissions information. It's March 9th, this number makes sense. It's definitely not over, just hang in there. All the best to those waiting...

    Interesting statistics for nervous applicants

^^^That number makes sense at this point in the Admissions cycle. Perhaps the OP meant approximately 300 had accepted Appointments as of the end of Feb., rather than offered. Two completely different sets of data. Best of luck to those waiting patiently!

    Flight School question

They will find housing on their own and I don't know if there was ever a housing 'brief'. If there was, my '11 either didn't mention it to me or didn't attend. I hd gotten a list of apt. complexes from someone and sent to my kid to give a start. My kid and room mates started looking after they...

Is Nom Specified as Principle on USNA portal?

Your DS should call the MOC's office and ask if he is the Principal nominee or 1 of the alternates. To the best of my knowledge, <others will correct me I'm sure> the is no designation in the CIS portal of Principal or Alternate's. Congratulations to your son!
