My observations on my son's admission to USNA

As far as summer seminar tips go, I would second this and definitely value 'get in shape' as number one. While it's not the end of the world if you aren't, it definitely carries a lot of weight with keeping a good image of yourself & helping out your squad in team exercises. Out of my squad, so...

Are Verbal heavy ACT scores still good?

Does USNA request all 7th semester transcripts or just some?

What's the typical wait for remedials?

After initially submitting DoDMERB, I was given two remedials and sent them in to my physician at different times. The first one I sent was processed(he/she sent me an email back) within a few days and taken off my DoDMERB site the next day. The second was also processed within a few days, but...

No remedials required - Portal Update

So would a typical candidate go from 'Complete Pending Review' to a decision? Or is there a period where the status is just 'Complete?' Thanks

    Summer Seminar Arrival times

I believe they wanted everyone in by a certain time that was specified in an email/form somewhere(4 by my guess?) I flew into BWI at 3:00 and was definitely on the later end of arrivals but there were still people coming in, and actually a few who came in the day after due to a cancelled flight.

Advice Needed on Recruiting to Plan B School

Hi all, I've recently been offered an official visit(paid airfare, hotel, etc) to one of my back-up schools, and I'm conflicted on whether to take it or not. I've applied(non-recruited) to the USNA and USAFA as well, which are my first two choices and where my heart truly lies. However, the...

    Summer Seminar/Pre-Candidate opt

I personally would reccomend to have it be the pre-candidate application just to make things easier and to get it out of the way, but either way won't necessarily help/hurt you. With a 1430 you're not likely to get rejected candidate status anyway, and you'll always be able to update your scores...

Requesting Help for DS - SAT vs. ACT

I'm confused how this would make sense. I'm at a 35 math & 35 English which I was told would equate to a 1560, and I have a 1530 currently. Why would 99th percentile on the ACT get 800 when 800 on the SAT is a higher percentile than 99?(I forgot the exact number, but 1530 is around 99.6)...

    GPA refigurement?

As I'm sure you all know, USAFA refigures GPAs based on school & it says so on the portal. My question is, what if our GPA hasn't changed? Is it likely my application hasn't been looked at, or is the GPA going to stay the same? For reference my application was turned in very early November...

Submitting Multiple Standardized Tests for SS

As the previous poster mentioned, it probably doesn't matter too much, but I would definitely send both. Showing your ability to test at a high level on two different tests, to me, is always better than one.

Where does dodmerb paperwork get sent to?

I searched online, found numerous different answers. I need to send in a statement of my physical activities in the past few years & xrays & letters from a doctor. Does this all get emailed? Thanks in advance.

    USNA Cross Country Team

Also hoping to make the cross country & track teams. I was told during Plebe Summer there's times where anyone interested in XC is able to run & that there's tryouts at some point over summer. I also remember hearing somewhere that it's a very much you-cut-yourself kind of program. If anyone has...

    CFA Scores

I passed(at least Navy's standards with- 50 ft bball, 5 pull-ups, 8.?? Shuttle, 75 pushups, ~65 crunches, 5:00 mile, so if they're the same "minimums," then your crunches is the only one that looks concerning.

    Letter of Assurance

Congrats! When did you complete your app., out of curiousity? And yes, I believe there was a thread with one other LOA-receiver somewhere, but not a big one.
