Corona Virus on or before I-day = Medically DQ'd

The OP never did forward the email, which adds to my suspension this “directive” is B.S.

    Question for B&G Officer

During my interviews with candidates and parents, I explain the candidate will know their offer status before I do. I also ask if they could inform me of admission's decision. When I do get the phone call, we talk about "Plan B" and other options. Personally, I am not comfortable with one school...

Direct Appointment to West Point vs. NAPS

My daughter was a CPO from Cleveland Div and received a NAPS offer (not a recruited athlete), Merchant Marine, and NROTC. She wanted Navy and even met the Supe trying to convince him to upgrade her NAPS offer for a full appointment. Long story short: NAPS works. If I can assist with anything...

    Sending a resume to admissions

You would be better served sending a one to two page resume to your BGO. I always ask candidates for their resumes prior to the BGO interview.

Impact of Sea Cadets on USNA app/Tips for RT?

I'm a fan of the Sea Cadet program and truly enjoy maximizing their exposure to USNA. Have to agree with the theme here as I've seen 17 year olds apply in the program because they think it looks good for admissions. I'm also the C.O. of Knighthawk Squadron in Vienna, OH. Let me know if I can assist.

Anyone else have this I day experience?

My daughter knew the stories, and we made several trips to USNA. She also knew prior Sea Cadets who informed her the realities of I-day and Plebe Summer. I think the realization hit her, but she internalized any fears she had and marched in knowing the support system exists for her. I felt bad...

    Quit Sea Cadets?

Someone from the Sea Cadet Discussion sent me a PM about this thread. Holy cow. Have to agree with the advice on chain of command...I'm on Facebook. A lot. For Sea Cadets who need a hand with USNA, feel free to contact me: dcabarle@seacadets.org

    Questions For Founding Members

This site gave me an idea for my own Facebook group for USNA Candidates. I intended to assist my own candidates in NE Ohio, but I think it compliments SAF. I still refer to this site (and my Facebook group) with my intro letter.

    Sea Cadets... Sound Off

Capt MJ brings up a key point, especially with BGO and nomination interviews: Cadets must do their due diligence to explain their leadership and academic involvement and HOW the Sea Cadet program contributes to their success. I'll say it until I cheer for Army: The program is not a fast track to...
