We arrived on the Friday before R-Day in 2010. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Mystic then and many times in the following four years. Good luck.

Steak Loft in Mystic is a good restaurant. I'd recommend the Coast Guard Museum, the Exchange for CGA gear, and just exploring the Academy.

DS went with glasses during Swab Summer, far less potential for problems when there's no time for problems.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Check with AO to make sure they have everything. Our DS is a 2014 and items on his list never grayed out.

Is it the norm that parents will be able to spend time with their swab following the flag ceremony? Also, what and when is the shoulder board ceremony and is there an opportunity to see your swab following? Thanks for any info.

Problem solved The situation has been resolved. Thanks to all who replied for your assistance.

Our son's high school awards ceremony is tomorrow (5/25) night. I have not had any success in getting a copy of the script used to present an appointment. The Academy's electrical issues have intervened. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

My son recieved a letter from USNA indicating that he was "scholastically qualified." The letter came in February.
