    Re Applicant

Usually they give validation exams for calc 1 and 2 and chemistry over swab summer, physics during MAP and CAP weeks. I know kids that have validated a bunch of classes, but it all depends on what you remember and can apply during swab summer. I took a year of college and validated one course here.

Wait List - How does it work?

Has anyone on the wait list heard anything?

    USCGA Chances

You look extremely qualified, just succeed academically to increase your class rank (if your school ranks), and take the SAT/ACT until you feel like you have the most competitive scores you can get. I'd say try to do Girl's State as well if you have the opportunity. AIM is an accomplishment, If...

Do Congressmen always nominate 10 for 1 spot?

From Congressman Leonard Lance's website: (http://lance.house.gov/academy-nominations/) The Nomination Process To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements established by law and be nominated from an authorized person...

Well from a media restriction standpoint plebe year an iPhone helps, because you can keep your music on it from what the plebes on my CVW told me.

    Just a Word of Encouragement

cacandidate2015, congratulations to you, and kudos to you for going through rat year and plebe year! I want to caution the other way as well! Candidates should pick a place they would truly be happy at if they do not get into USNA a second try. This was my problem. I hate the school I'm at, and...

Selection for the Platoon Leaders Class

Much more competitive! Just as a word of caution, the PLC Program has become much more competitive in my district in just the past three years. I was looking at stats from the past listing selected candidates with 250 scores on the PFT. This year, apparently, they're looking for 285 and above...

    2016 USNA Mailbox Stalkers Club...

I also received a TWE-wait list here in NJ. This was my second time applying, but I received a full appointment to USCGA! I elected to stay on the wait list, but I think given this year, chances are slim. Nonetheless, proud to carry on the family tradition of being a Coastie :thumb:! For...

    AROTC to Navy OCS

Seems plausible While I doubt there is any specific program. From talking with Cadets it seems like you can do AROTC for the first two years with no obligation. Therefore, your son could go to a school with AROTC and participate in it if he chooses. This may or may not help him when he goes up...

    What does this letter mean??

West Point can't force you to attend, and if you let them know as soon as you find out about USNA, they will have plenty of time to pull somebody else off of the wait list. There's no reason they should force you to choose between USNA and USMA, because how could it be a disadvantage to anybody...

    SAT subject tests?

They have not looked at my SAT Subject Tests or AP Exam scores. I'd recommend you take what you are strong in, because it's likely your Plan B will require them.
