If your cadet is looking for a long military career then I would strongly recommend a SMC. I have a second (junior) at VMI and I am blown away by Lexington and VMI. I'm a teacher who has taught many students who ended up in the various academies and The Citadel, VMI, and Va Tech. The SMC advantage is guaranteed active duty.
