in my opinion everything helps. If they got 3-5's on the AP exams, I know West Point has an option for you to send in your AP scores. So if they did well I would send them in.

you want a 4.0 for west point, maybe a 3.9 is understandable if you messed up and got a B in one class, mistakes happen. But the large majrity of people get a 4.0
I have a 32 ACT (35 math, 33 science, 31 english, 30 reading) and that is highly above average. You want to try to get above a 28 (which is average for past classes) even though I got word that the class of 2028 is the strongest they have ever seen. Hope this helps.
