Generally speaking the Academy will try and get a waiver for something that is waiverable. However, if you need more than one waiver it probably won't happen.

These are good scores, but you should try and get higher. DD had 30/30/30/31, 3Q, and no appointment. Next year will be even tougher so the higher the better.

If you're unhappy with the way you think that USAFA is selecting their cadets, then you need to call your congressman. Only he/she has the authority to investigate how the academies are appointing future cadets and affect any changes.

Visual accuity not correctable means that you cannot see 20/20 even with glasses. This is a definite pilot disqualifier. This is not waiverable. You may want to make sure that this is indeed the case.

Your not different from many of the kids that go to the USAFA. Give it a shot.

This one is totally disqualifying for pilot, but it is strange that your son didn't know his vision was not correctable to 20/20. Might want to find out if this is actually the case.

The vast majority of BFE's went out last week, the TWE's went out this week. You should have one in your mailbox by now. Hope you are the exception.

I believe the most important factor is which MOC area you reside in. My daughter beat ALL the averages (GPA/ACT'S/Varsity sports/EC's/perfect medical) for the appointees from the 2014 class. IOW she would have been easily in the top half of those who actually RECEIVED appointments. However...

Either class is good, GPA will be the most important factor along with joining ROTC.

If you haven't gotten a BFE by now most likely you are not getting one with a few exceptions. Bottom line, is you have to wait until the mail comes with your letter in it.

After talking to the counselor at the USAFA about the QNV letter, I asked about the bold faced part of the letter. Almost zero chance of getting an appointment at this point as they have already factored in a rejection rate (i.e. given out more appts then vacancies). We have moved on (not sure...
