He was awarded NROTC scholarship in November. He is deciding between Notre Dame and Univ of Southern CAL. I am pulling for the Irish☘️ but both are great schools.
My DS reached out a few weeks ago but got no response. Heard from a reliable source that 2 reapplicants from our district received appointments so fully expecting a TD. Embracing plan B.
We are with you all….4 admitted student day visits planned in April to finalize Plan B. All great colleges with solid NROTC units. NSI session 1 confirmed.
My DS was also accepted at USC on Friday. We are #4 on this list with NROTC Scholarship placed at ND. We are making the trek to LA for admitted student day in April as USC is his #2. Still hopeful that USNA comes through as well but not feeling too confident as we approach the April 15...

I was in your shoes with DS #1 in the 2026 cycle only twe came on April 13. It was the end of the road for him. There was no path to NAPS - too high academically and not a recruited athlete.
He embraced plan B, NROTC at Notre Dame, and is a happy midshipmen. To this day we don’t...
Just discovered this thread - love it! Day 23 - no news! Awarded NROTC scholarship, but USNA is first choice.
Anxiously watching for VA appointments - very few posted on the forum to date.
In the 2026 cycle my DS received his TWE on Apr 13. Plan B was secure and he is a happy midshipman at Notre Dame. My middle DS is in this cycle for class of 2028. I know it's early, but starting to feel like deja vu.
