These are football recruits. I was shocked to see them “commit” on Twitter to Navy. I didn’t think that was possible. They are extremely low academically, and I was told they were heading to prep school. They didn’t seem to understand that they still had to go through the application process.

Okay, this may sound like a dumb question, but someone asked me, and I just want to verify that I gave them the correct information. A recruited athlete who has already been told that they would have to go to the Prep school to improve academics still has to follow the same application process...

Waiting until January 31 is very common for some TX MOCs. My DS almost had a heart attack last year waiting for the nomination slate to be submitted. He had an LOA and all he needed was a nomination.

My youngest son is at USMMA, and everyone thinks he's joined the Marine Corps.

7th semester grades are required for USMMA.

It would be hard on a kid to get sent home after busting your rear-end through Indoc and an entire trimester only to have to start all over. I think it's great that they at least have a setback and not dis-enrollment, but it still sucks.

My son had an LOA. Earned a C in AP Chemistry his senior year. He was able to keep the LOA and accept the appointment, but they (i.e. Coach) made it very clear that the Advisory Board would revoke the LOA if he dropped below a C in that class. Do what it takes to pull up as many of those...
