Strongly agree here, we found that once school was out most teachers are fairly detached. One that my DS had requested a recommendation from left and that request had to be reset, and our admissions officer was rotating out so it took awhile. Be diligent and patient (hurry up and wait!!). Even...
My DS was turned down for SS and got an appointment in early January. He did not get an email with that wording, though. It was a “regrets, but you’re still in the running” email.
Update: optometrist appointment went great, two of the AMI’s were cleared and was working on the third, but before submitting DoDMERB status for USNA turned to Waiver Approved / Medical Waiver Granted. Ended up being a technicality.
Thanks for your prayers, I will do likewise for your DS, and sorry about the TWE. Though my son is frustrated, he told me last night that at worst he has been accepted to Georgia Tech and if he doesn't get his dream gig that this one isn't bad.
He got qualified without an AMI. He had an issue with his ears, after we sent that in about a month later he flipped to qualified for USNA and USMA. Got offers for both in January
Have an appointment Friday and a corneal topography is part of it. My only issue through this whole thing is that we already got a waiver in December. I can’t get an answer as to why we’re back to DQ now.
Agreed on both. I’m coming home early from my business trip to accompany. Also, I recalled that my oldest son is enlisted Air Force and had to get a waiver for his eyes four years ago. His optometrist happened to be a reserve AF officer and said he knew exactly what they were looking for. Guess...
Thanks for the encouragement! We’ve got an optometrist appt on Friday, kicked into action mode. My DS is hanging in there...I just said the other day that he’s had so little adversity over the last year that I’m worried about what would happen if he faced some. He’s handling it fine.
We've been in contact with his admissions counselor. He applied last fall for the ROTC scholarship and ROTC started the DodMerb process. USNA had given him a waiver without a remedial optometrist visit and realized that when the medical DQ popped up again. I believe that he will have to go...
