    For athletes' parents

Daughter is a swimmer at USAFA. She has paid for a few things on her own. but most of the stuff was given to her. All of their trips - meets and training trips have been fully paid for in full. That included food and travel and room. Very little expenses for them!!!

    Appointments

My D has applied to USNA and is still waiting, from Laguna Niguel, in Orange County. Good luck! Little more humid (and cold) in Annapolis than Southern California!

Placing $$ Value on USNA Degree

Recently there was a West Point Cadet that was expelled and he filed a lawsuit to try to avoid the $189,000 the Army was requiring him to repay for the cost of his education.

USNA 1985 too, and All of the volunteer BGOs! Thanks.

    Scholastically Qualified

Thanks 69. I agree the best way for alleviating anxiety is good communication between the candidate and the BGO. Sounds like you are the "gold standard" for Blue and Gold Officers. You really know the process, your candidates' records, their status in the process, and communicate that to...

    Scholastically Qualified

USNA69 and USNA 1985, I assume you both are BGOs and deal all the time with the candidates becoming frustrated with the waiting while the complete Admissions process takes place. It seems to me that the term "rolling admissions process" is a little misleading and the misperceptions caused by...

    Scholastically Qualified

USNA69. Sounds like the real difficult work by the Board then is determining whether a candidate is scholastically qualified or not. For this, they need to consider SAT/ACT, class rank, GPA, etc. I also assume each record has an Admissions Officer assigned to it and this Officer (or civilian...

    Mid-Year/1st Semester Grades:

Thanks USNA69. You're a great resource. Another quick question(s). I understand that the Admissions Board meets every Thursday. Do you know, generally, now that the application packages are all (pretty much) complete for the candidates, how many records the Admissions Board reviews each...

    Mid-Year/1st Semester Grades:

USNA69. Only if they ask for them? Any particular reason why don't send in unless they ask? Clutters up the record? Could sidetrack a scheduled review date? Won't be considered?

    Scholastically Qualified

Thanks 69 and 85. We'll let you know how it turns out!

    Mid-Year/1st Semester Grades:

Would you recommend sending in 1st Semester transcript for a candidate that was triple Q'd (but non-LOA and non-Primary) where the transcript would show, for example, a better semester GPA than cumulative GPA, an A in Physics, and a slight improvement in class rank? Could this possibly help when...

    Scholastically Qualified

Thanks USNA69. Very Informative. Can you expound a little on your last observation regarding the recruited athlete who is no longer wanted and then falls through the regular Admissions Office process crack? Is this because while being recruited, the athlete's record is sheparded through...
