    DoDMERB Asthma Questions

Asthma There is a ton of good advice on this topic under the DODMERB thread. What you will read is that know one can tell you your chances because each case is different. You will be disqualified. You most likely will be required to take a spirometry test and methacholine challenge test and...

    AIM Application

Aim 30 to 40% of academy appointees attended summer programs, so the good news is that 60 to 70% did not therefore no need to be too concerned. Remember you are at the start of a marathon so don't get de-motivated. Good luck!

USMA Class of 2017 Acceptance Thread

If you are qualified by the academy and have a nomination then you are eligible for an appointment. Not all admissions officers/RC sent out qualified letters. If you were told you were qualified, but did not get a letter then don't worry about not having a letter.

USMA Class of 2017 Acceptance Thread

LOE Big Nick, I hope you are correct about the chances with an LOE! I assume the LOE took into consideration if you had attended the SLS and so that an LOE and SLS attendance doesn't further enhance the odds of being selected, correct? Comparing stats with previous classes in search of clues...

    Admissions, what we do know.

300 files Given that the SE RC covers seven states with 85 congressional districts and 14 senators that means there are at least 1,000 files that he needs to qualify. If he has 300 left that means he is at least 70% complete, which is very impressive and that decisions may have already been...

    Appointment Process

Is it a good assumption that an LOE is a sign of a very high WCS and therefore a LOE holder has a good shot of being selected off the NWL if not a MOC slate winner?

Asthma DQ, Waivers?, Waiver guidelines btwn Service Academies?

I believe your answers are 1.YES 2.YES 3. There is always a chance. 4. I've read that there are some differences and that USNA is the most difficult, but I have no proof. Having asthma is difficult even if well controlled, but that does not mean you won't succeed in getting a waiver...

    Medical Waiver Granted?

It is a good sign, but no guarantee. They process all competitive candidates for waivers. There will be candidates who are 3Q and nominated, but don't get an appointment. Does he have a LOE? Good luck!

    Appointment Process

Hopefully true, pthaler. However some MOCs who know they have a candidate or two with Loas or Loes will actually give a principal nomination to another candidate because they know the other two will likely get in anyway and this way they get to more of their nominees into the academy and make...

    Appointment Process

Math Should probably leave this analysis to an academy person but here is my take. 1200 appointments offered as follows 535 MOC appointees 100 presidential appointees 200 recruited athletes with LOAs 150 of NWL based strictly on whole candidate score ( required by rules) 50 enlisted...

    Help With admissions please!

First advice For any number of good reasons, I hope the name in your post is not your real name. There is a good thread about what information you should not divulge on these boards. Only advice is start to making contacts with your members of congress early. The nomination process is...
