Has anyone noticed the little bottles of Purell hand sanitizer they are wearing on their belts next to their canteen? Wondering if this is an effort to prevent the spread of "Plebe Hack"?? I just noticed it in some photos of them all standing out on the parade field making their phone calls, so...
Thanks NavyHoops. I'll let my DS know on our phone call Sunday not to worry about it for now. Just focus on getting through Plebe Summer! As others have said on this forum, I believe he is where he is supposed to be and it makes my heart full. So proud of all these kids for putting in the hared...
All in all a great day! My DS did have a bit of a scare during in-processing. He is college re-applicant who completed his DODmerb 2 years ago. When he got to medical on I-Day he took the test for color deficiency and failed. They asked if he had a waiver. He said no, he had passed it when...
Still waiting in ME....and yes, we are at the tail end of the alphabet (not sure this has anything to do with the continued wait). Not sure I want to download and print all that paper???
I can totally appreciate your frustration with the process, Wondergirl and I understand you are just venting. However, the one thing that is important to keep in mind is that the BGO's have no influence over the admissions process whatsoever. My DS has had 2 different BGO's over the past 2...
Congrats on the waitlisted status. You are still in the hunt. My DS was waitlisted last year. He moved forward with making a deposit at Plan B school, went ahead and accepted his NROTC Marine Option scholarship and focused on getting excited about Plan B. I think the only thing he sent to his AC...
Agree with Hoops. In our experience last year, DS was waitlisted on 1 April and did not receive the final turndown until early June. He went ahead with Plan B school and accepted his NROTC scholarship shortly after being advised of his WL status.
So sorry to hear this Scout-NC. I had been keeping my fingers crossed for your DD and hoping to hear some good news from another college re-app. I know she has a lot going for her and she will bounce back. Great things await!
I recall last year there was quite a bit of activity on 4/1. We all joked about April Fool's Day! I remember there were a number of TWE's and a number of candidates moved to WL status. Hang in there all who are still waiting!
My DS, who successfully reapplied this year, worked (a lot) to save up spending money for college. He also worked out to prepare for re-taking the CFA and being in good shape when checking into his NROTC unit. It certainly wasn't anything out of the ordinary in terms of summer activities. He did...
Thrilled to add another college re-applicant to the appointed list! DS received the happy news yesterday. It has been a long 2 year process for him and I am so proud of his perseverance to see this through. I am grateful to have had all the words of advice and support on this forum. Best of luck...
