Thanks for any guidance! We are moving this summer and have a choice of districts. Does anyone out there know if USNA admissions looks fondly on IB programs or should we stick to the AP High School? DS is starting 10 grade and for now is focusing on USNA as his #1 pick. Obviously personal...
BFE arrived today for USNA. < 2 weeks after BGO called with news of DD appointment and portal update. It's exciting, now the tough call on which college to attend. Several excellent options, all very humbling.
Not sure it helped but our DD just got the appointment yesterday and if she decides to go she'd be third gen USNA. (Mom/Dad and Grandfather are USNA grads)....At the end of the day, her record was top notch without legacy points but every little bit helps. Good luck to all and hang in there!
Congrats on both! Fantastic news. Based on your questions and possible concerns, ROTC UVA is an amazing choice that offers everything you need to have a college experience and prepare you for the fleet without the time consuming "rigor" of the USNA schedule. An advantage of USNA is you start...
It might be worth being honest to your Plan B school and telling them you are waiting for the results of USAFA. Not sure how they would react to being #2 but I would hope most would understand. I would plan on losing your deposit if you go to USAFA and if you don't that's an added bonus...
Does anyone know if USNA admissions gives any points on your app for having one or maybe even two parents who graduated USNA? How about if the parents graduated other SAs? Uncles/brothers/sisters/grandparents? Some colleges give you added points if you are the first in your family to attend...
Congrats to all LOAs! My DS got an LOA to USAFA today and a call for the senators office yesterday saying they nom' her. Does this mean she should start celebrating or is there still potentially more drama? TIA! This forum is awesome.
Stressful stuff! My DS applied to USAFA and USNA and found out yesterday she got nom' by her Senator and this morning got an LOA from USAFA (via MOC staff when she was interviewing for the USNA nom) The panel quizzed her on why USNA was #1 choice with a LOA from USAFA. She has her Sen nom and...
My DD's application status shows "Presidential" for nomination even though we didn't get an email or letter about it. (Dad is retired Navy) Does that mean she should still interview with her Congressman next week for USNA and if so, does that make her more competitive if she gets the Congress...
