The part that really concerns me nowadays, are that the names on the shirts you mentioned are officer candidate hopefuls. Seems to me that should be a Personal and operational security issue, especially when made in CHINA.
The academies look at the entire package. On I-Day I have seen big and small cadets that looked like they could not possibly do the numbers. My son lost over 30 lbs (football player) to get fit. Don't strive for the minimum, strive for your best. -Dad of Cadet.
How much personal time do we get each day during basic? I'm sure it will depend on the day. I see it on the schedules from last year being right before taps. Just wondering how much time this usually is/what we will likely spend it doing. Thanks.
Thank you for all of the information! What summer did these cadets go to China/Vietnam? Were the cadets that went on the China trip taking Chinese at the Academy? Did they have to pay for the bulk of the travel/housing expenses, or did the Academy cover that?
Do you get to choose where you go on ops during your 2C and 1C summers? Also, if you go on a trip to a foreign country through a language program, do you have to pay for the trip like you would have to at a civilian college or does USAFA cover it for you?
Current cadets: Do the T-Shirts issued during BCT shrink at all/run big or small? I am typically a size large, but the form asking for my T-Shirt size says to order one size larger if unsure of the correct size. Trying to figure out if I should go with large or extra large. Thanks.
So do we run many of our morning PT runs with groups of people who run at about the same pace as us? Ie, are we split up to run at our own pace for a set amount of time rather than a set distance?
Oh okay, got it. What AFSC did he serve? Just wondering if someone with a management degree who goes pilot will have as many job opportunities as someone with the same degree who goes acquisition officer, for example. Do companies care about your AFSC?
What do you mean by your ops research "guy"? Son? Also, is it common for companies to offer cadets job positions that will be reserved for them until after their service commitment?
