    Navy Womens Rugby Final 4

We are planning to attend the Men's Rugby match at Cal on Saturday. We are from the Sacramento area so it's great to be able to go see them compete so close to home! My DS has also been playing varsity rugby since freshman year and is hoping to play at Navy. Go Navy!

    Portal Change?

Yep, now changed because of Permit to Report, etc. but it never reflected receipt of acceptance. Thanks for the update!

    Portal Change?

It would be nice if USNA updated the portal but they don't. You won't see any changes. My son emailed his admissions counselor about a month after signing to make sure they received his acceptance.

    NASS Clothing Selection Help

I don't think you can change sizes. He won't need any clothes other than socks and underwear. They are given enough shorts and tee shirts for each day plus a sweat suit. They do need sheets, pillow and towel. My son had a great time last year, hope yours does too!

what to do the day before Iday

We live in Northern Calif and want our DS to adjust to the time change and weather so we are taking a red eye on the Friday night before. We will do a little sight seeing and give him plenty of time to run!

Got "the call" from our MOC's office!

Congratulations! I hope her BFE arrives quickly. My son didn't want to quite believe it until the appointment was in his hands!

    Hello . . . my name is USNA2017Mom and I am a stalker.

esu8 ~ good luck. The waiting must be torture. My son was very fortunate (along with all the hard work we all can attest to) to receive an LOA and appointment but I know that every step was agonizing for him and us. During his Sophmore year I mentioned that our Congressman was having an...

    Advice needed

Thanks for all the tips. We went to Williamsburg several years ago but it was in the spring so the traffic wasn't too bad but I can see in summer it's probably crazy. We hadn't considered the beach either so maybe we'll check that out and hit Philly. He made it through NASS and didn't have...

    Advice needed

We are heading to USNA the weekend before so that our son can get a bit acclimated to the humidity. We live in Northern California so the weather is definitely different! We are letting him decide where he would like to go when we get there. Couple of days in Philly or Williamsburg are being...

    Spring sports- play or skip

We had a thoughtful discussion with our son of the pros and cons of playing rugby this year and he decided it would be better to think ahead to the possibility of playing at USNA rather than risk injury. He had been playing varsity rugby since his freshman year and loves it but in the end...

starting the process of applying to the US Naval Academy

Yes! Totally agree about that book Whistle Pig suggested. We bought that for our son when he first became interested and it has been read cover to cover several times. :thumb:

starting the process of applying to the US Naval Academy

My son received an LOA and nomination so I can tell you what we think helped with his application. Your son should apply to Naval Academy Summer Seminar (NASS). I think the application is open in Jan. It is said that attending doesn't give you an advantage on the application, but if you...

    Medical Question

I agree, just answer the questions on the forms and don't offer anything that isn't required. We were a bit nervous also but it went very smoothly and DS didn't need to follow-up with any additional information. Good luck!
