Also, realistically, in order to be a USNA swimmer, an individual needs to be an elite club swimmer - one of the best in whatever state they are from. These athletes are specialists (training 11 months of the year, often twice per day) and it is unlikely that they competed in 3 or 4 different...

Attended a reception for Scott Garrett's Nominees last night. The speaker said at least 2 or 3 times that there were more nominees than appointments. So, even in a competitive district like NJ5, there are many kids with noms who have not recieved appts.

Thanks Thanks for the heads up about STEM. I probably would not have know about it were it not for this thread. Daughter has applied, she's going to be a rising junior. As her brother is USMA 2014, she got a kick out of the "beat Army" line on the confirming e-mail.
