Softball has a FB page and a site off the USNA.edu site under athletics/club sports. DD played for them when they were national champions. The coach is very approachable but I'd wait until you get to meet her this fall.
Funny I didn't think of that and just the other day I watched video of DD after the hat toss. She ran to the back where her company was in order to celebrate with them.
I figured that was probably the case. I wonder when the top 100 will sit with their companies for commissioning. Can't have real accomplishments being noted. DD always had a star but it took her until 1C to make the Supe's list and I believe she felt she earned it. Those sitting in the front...
I love the place. Reminds me of going to the O club with my dad. The brunches are what we usually attend and are pretty good. I don't think DD ever went there during her four years unless we brought her. I think my membership is good for a few months more and I'd like to hit it one more time.
Not sure about this year but in 17' we went to PEP along with about 200 other parents. My take away, Maj Antonelli is a beast. He led the workout from a platform using a mic and spoke regularly throughout PEP. Take away 2, the line at the head is very long.
I guess getting vaccinated was kind of a waste.
I never understand how covid knows not to infect anyone eating but you must wear it to the table. Or in this case sleeping. One Mid sitting in their room with a mask, 3 or 4 sleeping without it. I truly don't understand the logic.
That didn't come out right. I meant to say they seemed to want us in their lives more than when they were in school or at the Yard. I seem to recall doing the same when I was away at school.
So after Graduation and Commissioning we hear from DD2 a lot more. She has a TAD at the Yard that is rewarding and we get to hear about it more than when she was a MID. DD1 was the same way. We didn't hear much during college but after she moved out we got texts and a weekly FaceTime...
Don't give them ideas. In 2017 a mom of a Mid got his password and proceeded to tell anyone who inquired what company their Plebe was assigned. I don't know how much trouble the Mid was in when the Brass found out but I can imagine they weren't happy. Every year some parent or two does...
I was concerned about DD 4 years ago. The USNA videos make it seem like the Mids walk on water and while I knew she was special she was still just our kid. The PS pictures we found were not always encouraging but the calls were good. Still I worried, so for my sake I wrote between 1-3 letters...
I believe there are internships that are not paid and the MID or the parents will pony up the cash. Just like the civilian workplace. He should team up with someone to share the hotel and rental car. Rental car companies will rent to military under 25.
LongAgoPlebe, I have received some nice letters from Plebes the last four years I've been sending packages. It's nice to hear that is really did mean something to you. I too tell them I don't expect a response but that I will respond to all correspondence. Three letters was the most I've...
If you have the means, consider creating one addressed to "Any Plebe" C/O the Chaplains office. Not everyone gets a care package or even mail due to family circumstances or it's just overlooked with email and texting the normal method of communication. For the foreign students, mail or a small...
The 200 is the shortest distance they will swim for a grade. If she's not that strong she should consider taking the class to prepare for the other two swims. Is she planning on dedicating 8 weeks to train for the 400?
