All great info from @Milarmymarinelady! For family weekend, there are specific report times when you are allowed to depart campus and when you need to return, but you don't need a parent or anyone to officially check you out or anything. You will have to remain in uniform if you are in public...
So sorry @NavyGirl06 - as fellow Coloradans, we were rooting hard for you! Wishing you all the best in what comes next and if you decide to reapply- you'll do great things!
Caveat here- all info is offered as education and not actual medical advice! the boards don't always like links but I think I've included enough info that google will get you where you need to go!
In addition to talking with counseling services and the chaplain, there are a lot of self-help...
well, hell, this is not what anyone in my house was hoping to see for you. I don't get it.
FWIW, you have shown considerable grace and maturity (far more than I could have mustered at your age, and likely more than I could even now) throughout this process. I know you'll continue to do great...
This was our experience for DD. Her portal went to CPR early on a Wed AM, then she received an email from our MOCs staffer, and then it showed up in her portal on Friday or maybe Saturday
Thanks for highlighting that part @AROTC Parent. My comments below are some combined thoughts as both a parent that has been through this process for the last two cycles as well as a psychologist- but keep in mind that this is NOT medical advice, and I am not YOUR psychologist. Just some ideas...
(and I'm doing my best not to jump on my soapbox about mental health and insurance- as a provider, I work outside the insurance system for this exact reason, so that I am not forced to provide a dx for people who don't really have one and then have that following them around afterwards)
just clarifying, what grade in school are you in now? just trying to better understand how the timeline of events intersects with your application timeline (mental health provider here).
the phrase "chronic adjustment disorder" is kind of weird to me bc technically if something is going on...
I imagine it must be so hard, year after year.
As a family living through the TD last year, in many ways there is nothing mini about the grief for many. For the applicants the TD hits on so many different tender points and has the potential to alter their future in a big way, depending on what...
It is now "tomorrow" (Tuesday) for almost everyone. Sending good vibes to all left standing and love and respect to all that didn't get the news they wanted today. Having been here for two years, this seemed like a particularly brutal process this year, especially these last few days. This has...
Thanks for sharing this. We’ve often wondered what things looked like for BGOs- how many students they were navigating, what those relationships looked like etc. that is wild that most did not respond to your outreach attempts. Makes me wonder what DDs BGOs thought of her, as she sent a few...
You’re still hanging in there, @anom? We’ve been crossing our fingers and sending good vibes to you here in CO- remembering all your posts from last time too. Your fortitude was such a great example for DD for moving forward and trying again after her TD last year. Sending all the good thoughts 💙
