With this example, is the remaining $$ at Occidental eligible for "standard" finacial aid? In other words, if DS applied for financial aid from Occidental, does the $18K come off my EFC or is that considered part of the financial aid package?

You'll want to go to the dodmerb web site. I believe the dodmets website referred us there once all the data has been sent from dodmets to dodmerb. Below is what's stated as DS's status - may or may not be typical. And checking 12 times a day doesn't make it appear any faster...trust me...
