    Presentation of ROTC Scholarship?

When I was awarded my AFROTC scholarship, Maxwell sent me a form for information that I wanted to be released for a newspaper press release. They then put together a very nice article for my hometown paper to print (which they did). It just basically says what the scholarship entails in...

    Some advice to new applicants

This topic has been addressed before but since we are starting to have new applicants appear on this forum, I just want to share a story with any new applicants out there. My mom took a phone call at work yesterday and as telephone small talk goes, it turns out the other lady was also a mom...

    Presentation of ROTC Scholarship?

I asked my ALO to present my scholarship to me during my graduation ceremony last Friday. It was very simple: he read the statement provided to him and gave me a certificate. I don't think the audience totally "got it" but I had some family members who didn't know I had gotten the scholarship...

    AFROTC Type 7 question

Yes, Oklahoma (OU) DOES honor the 4-year Type 7 for OOS ROTC students. They don't classify you as a Resident, but if you take your scholarship there, they cap your OOS tuition at $8999. I'm a Nebraska resident and I just got my confirmation back from Maxwell with OU as my #1 selection. :thumb...

    AFROTC Board Results In

americanmadeford: Maybe it's not over yet. The Boards meet one more time the end of March/first of April. From what I've heard, any left over scholarships may be handed out during this last Board. Don't give up until you receive the official word that your application won't be reviewed...

What if I convert to Type 2 and change my mind?

2012Cadet: If you go to http://www.afrotc.com, you'll see a tab for scholarships. There are different "types" of scholarships they award, with varying $ amounts and conditions.

What if I convert to Type 2 and change my mind?

My #1 choice is Univ. of Oklahoma (I'm planning on going into Meterology). I called that detachment today to reconfirm and that is affirmative - 4 year ROTC scholarship recipients will receive an OOS tuition waiver.

What if I convert to Type 2 and change my mind?

My #1 choice is OOS but I was told by the Detachment Commander that his school will waive OOS tuition and cap my tuition to match my Type 7 scholarship. I'm worried they may not have a slot for me and I would miss my chance to attend my #1, and maybe lose out on my scholarship altogether. My...

What if I convert to Type 2 and change my mind?

I was just awarded a Type 7 AFROTC scholarship. If I return the acceptance form but indicate I wish to convert it to a Type 2, would I be able to change it back to a Type 7 if the financial aid doesn't come through that would allow me to go to a higher costing school? Also, should I contact...

packermatt and bigcox: Yeah I got my letter from Nelson yesterday too. My interview is scheduled for Dec. 2 but I've got District One-Act on that day. I'm gonna have to see if I can reschedule. I also got my letter from Hagel today too, but it wasn't the good news you guys got...

    Nomination YEAH!

Bigcox: Thanks for the boost of confidence, man. I did letter in football again this year but we don't get our awards until the end of the year. I might have to speak to my h.s. guidance counselor to see if he can forward a letter to USAFA informing them of my accomplishments so far this...

Packermatt & Bigcox: That is so awesome! I am so envious of you. I haven't heard anything yet from my MOCs and I still have the third one coming up. I'm hoping something good happens for me too!
