Class of 2028 Air Force Academy Candidate Reception invite

From a current cadet: If you can afford it, absolutely go. If you can't, find someone else from your area who is going and ask to tag along. These receptions are a great way to make connections, both with USAF officers and potential classmates (having friends before coming in is ALWAYS better)...

Any USAFA Questions (Current Freshman Female)

Needs to be completed. During Basic, you will be briefed on how to fill out the form electronically, but you need to bring the completed paper version with you so you can use it for reference.

    Common I-day/BCT questions answered

As a doolie, I highly recommend not shaving and just let them cut your hair on I-Day. For me, it's part of the whole "welcome to the military" experience. In my basic flight, pretty much every dude came in with their hair still uncut. I still remember getting it all shaved off

    USAFA Sports

There is a predetermined amount of money taken out of your paycheck every month for sporting events, you can't control that. Because of this, you get into any Academy game for "free." For ticketed events like basketball/hockey, all you do is just walk up to the ticket counter, show the ticketers...

    Current Doolie, Ask Away

AV-100 is a 10-lesson course where you learn the basics of flying (literally the basics...very simple basics) using virtual reality. I thought it was a cool experience. Very easy too. I think the technical name is Aviation 100 / Intro to Powered Flight Ops. It's required to complete before you...

    Current Doolie, Ask Away

I started my application the week it first opened (USAFA was my number one since middle school, so I was very eager to apply). I completed as much of it as I could. From there, I made a checklist of everything that I still needed to get done - teacher recommendations, essays...

    Current Doolie, Ask Away

Hi all, Current doolie at USAFA here. I remember where I was around this time last year - the anxiety, checking my application portal every 30 seconds, etc. Looking for updates and asking questions on this forum really helped me out. If you have any random questions that don't need their own...

    Best Printer?

The last thread about printers in this forum is over 10 years old, so I figured I'd make a new one. Any sort of recommendations for a printer for USAFA cadets? (specifically, doolies?) Here are a few that I've been looking at: Canon - PIXMA TS3520 Epson - Expression Home XP-4100 Epson - EcoTank...

Can someone add this as well: GTCC - Government Travel Charge Card

What Else to Pack + Bring to I-Day?

@SpiritCommitteeLiaison Has there been any update on when the squadrons, PO boxes, or reporting times will be assigned? My portal still doesn't list any of these items. Anyone else able to see their addresses yet?

    USAFA Math Validation Passing Score

I was appointed this year and had the exact opposite experience. I received my score after taking each of the three tests, but I don't know what math course I have been placed into nor what the minimum passing score is. Guess I'll find out when I get there 🙃

    Appointed But No Checklist Yet….

Same, I'm about to send an email to Team Blue about it. I just did a quick google search and was able to find it though. https://www.usafa.edu/app/uploads/2026-Appointee-Handbook.pdf
