    School Senior awards ceremony

I would also suggest that the HS graduates going into the military, both ROTC and enlisted, get recognized in the high school graduation ceremonies with the red, white and blue neck cords. Our HS did not do this, so we purchased one on Amazon.

    School Senior awards ceremony

The Northern California ROO (Brian Jong) had to sit through three hours of a long ceremony, as DD High School saved the largest scholarship announcements for last. Our daughter was the first student at the High School awarded navy National ROTC. Way to go! NSI #3, attending Auburn University

    4-Year NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Thread

Update on Navy ROTC at Embry-Riddle: Today, DD received an email from Pensacola that she was "Moved off the Waiting List" for placing her National Scholarship at ERAU. She politely declined. Initially she interviewed and ranked Purdue (1) as her top choice, but was waitlisted for her Aviation...

    NROTC Placed At 2nd School

Update! We visited both Auburn University and Embry-Riddle in Daytona last week. DD has decided on Auburn University! It was one form (Placement Change Request) + one day for the Navy scholarship folks in Pensacola to move her scholarship placement from Purdue University to Auburn. Very Easy...

    4-Year NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Thread

Hello ODO; DD just accepted her 4-Year National Navy ROTC scholarship and was accepted into the Aviation Program at Auburn University. We loved the campus and the facilities- what a great school.

    NROTC Placed At 2nd School

Toolman; This is great, thank you. Sounds like University of Oklahoma has a similar set up to OSU where the airport is 3 miles off campus and no student shuttle is provided. The public bus system has a stop at the small terminal but takes almost 40 minutes from campus. Taking into account...

    NROTC Placed At 2nd School

Herman: Thank you for the information, this is great. I am trying to PM you. I'll see if I can figure it out. Yes, she is set on being an Aviation major, which is why she is warm on the UC's - she would be going in as a mechanical engineering major.

    NROTC Placed At 2nd School

Hello Everyone! I am a mom of DD, who was also just notified she has received the 4-year Navy-ROTC National Scholarship. She wanted Embry-Riddle as well, and was notified it was full. She is now on the waitlist at ER, but the ROTC contact there offered her little hope. Her Scholarship...

    Navy AFA

Thank you Toolman002, we were mis-reading that fine print on the NROTC AFA! DD is focusing on getting her mile time down.

    Navy AFA

Hi Mom: DD and I saw the changes to the AFA made for the NROTC scholarship back in June 2022. My DD maxes out the planks and the push ups. There is some fine print on the bottom of the form that says if they get the maximum points for planks and push-ups that they do not need to do the run...

Mono! PFE Question for AIM and Early Action (October 15)

Thank you Everyone who responded - I wanted to follow-up with the posting. DD missed almost three weeks of school and was just hammered physically, but appears to be on her way up rapidly. She did have a lot of spleen swelling, so doctor said no way for AIM. We spoke to admissions and they...

Mono! PFE Question for AIM and Early Action (October 15)

Looking for Advice; DD was accepted into AIM for the first session (July 3-July 8) this summer. She was just diagnosed with Mono a few days ago, and is knocked off her feet physically with a lot of fatigue. Doctor suggested she will feel really crappy for another 2-4 weeks. Question...

    AIM and choosing flights

I have the same issue - DD would be flying all day from California. I think maybe I'll accompany her and we can fly a few days earlier prior to check in, then I can take off for the week. I've always wanted to visit Cooperstown....
