Career Miltary Option Toddman, From what I understand, the 4 years at the Academy count as college just like at a non-service academy education, and not towards the active duty requirement for retirement. I've also heard some talk that this may change.

kpwehope I concur with the above advice and can only offer a little hope in that our son now PC 2012 graduated with only 17 in his class. Good Luck and I think USMMA is truly a treasure for the candidates accepted!:thumb:

Hello, I'm new to the forum, wish I'd have found it earlier in the whole process but am glad to be here now. Dropped our oldest son off at the USMMA in Kings Point last Thursday and am now anxiously awaiting some type of coorespondance from him reassuring us that it was the best darn decision...

Thanks for the encouragement. As a new KP dad myself you exactly described some of my feelings and thoughts last Thursday. Looking forward to the first coorespondance from our son and can't wait for parent's weekend. The more I learn about the Academy the more impressed I am and excited for...
