That should be more than enough. I would recommend bringing about 400 on a visa giftcard for the tests, unless you have a debit card. The rest can be paid in cash
As for a laptop, leave it at home. You are not allowed to have one and that will all be explained in a newsletter you should receive from the school with a packing list included. When you are packing, try to bring the bare minimum of what the list outlines. Also try to make everything fit in: a footlocker, a suitcase, and a garment bag. During the semester you will do 'rapid redeployments' where you have about 10 minutes to move all your stuff to another dorm and be ready for dorm inspection. We had to do this on a rainy night and I was not to happy that I decided to pack extra polos and slacks and clothes in hope of not having to do much laundry.

Hey lodge chief. So the 8750 covers almost everything. It covers the basics such as: tuition, board, food, books, and an amazing opportunity. A few expenses have to be paid out of pocket. We had to pay for all the SAT and ACT tests every month as well as busing to all of these (about 100 a student for all buses). Also, our class got to go to the UCSD vs USAFA game and had to pay for our tickets and buses but it was all worth it. But the 8750 covers the basics and all but the tests. Will you be attending NWP next fall?
