My son does not have an ROTC scholarship and the awards were stacked based on merit and need.... plus a few scholarships for community service and early paperwork. If he is awarded an in college ROTC scholarship, I’m told the merit scholarship goes away, but the ID white kicks in and covers room...
Thank you for asking this question! I’m not sure what to do either. I’m thinking we use the laundry/linen service the first semester and see how it goes. I’m not as concerned with dry cleaning. DS can do that a piece at a time or bring it home over vacations.
What are the recommendations for being prepared for the August drop off of Rooks? (Time frames to be aware of.... things you wish someone had told you about....)?
My understanding is there are several types of scholarships. Some are awarded on past achievement and are provided all 4 years. Others are dependent on continued GPA. They range from 12000 to 25000 a year, depending on achievement. So I agree, you shouldn’t judge them on the fact he was awarded...
I assume that’s because Army pays more for their ROTC scholarships than Air Force does. Because we would still need to come up with money, by my calculations.
It’s my understanding that if you have the dean scholarship, and then are awarded the ROTC scholarship at Norwich, you then fofeit the merit scholarship. Was this your experience? Or am I mistaken?
Congratulations! Forgive me, I am not military and I have no idea what a BWE is! I’m going to be on a huge learning curve! Great on MMA! I’m concerned about the cost as well. But I guess we can figure that out.
Are you saying you can’t get commissioned with a history major these days in afrotc? I ask because the rotc instructor we spoke to was, in fact, a history major who went on to be a pilot. Or are you referring to the 3 year scholarship?
Hi! My son was just accepted for the class of 2022. Norwich is his first choice and he (and I) are very excited for this adventure! No questions right now. Just waiting to see the financial aid package when it comes!
