USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Yes! USNA and USMA should offer club swimming for kids like your son who are solid and could swim on the collegiate level. I cannot figure out why they don't - there are several established club programs within a reasonable drive to Annapolis. Obvi on the NCAA side the Army/Navy rivalry is huge...

Virginia Tech ROTC is so solid. Wishing you all the best!

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Wishing you all the best next year and upon commissioning! My two recent graduate kids have shared with me that during their time at USNA they encountered people for whom attending USNA was an end in itself, admitting as much, and this negatively impacted their experience upon commissioning.

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

oh good. I am sure he would have been great at usna - it's usna's loss.

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Wow on the math! Your son is certainly gifted and he will do great things with these gifts. But I also believe that USNA did in fact review his transcript and that informed the final decision. The form letter they use does not apply to your son's situation, but admissions cannot be expected to...

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

NavyMom0502 - no, our youngest is a plebe. I have been in the forums as I have a dear friend's son who has been waiting to hear from USNA for 2028. I have two other kids who graduated USNA 2020 and 2021 and are in the navy and marine corps, respectively. I should not say this but I have had...

Sounds like a great plan. I think this is USNA's loss.

Reapplying to USNA (after a turndown)

All this said, I think these endeavors are so worthwhile, and would imagine your application will be even stronger if you can demonstrate that you can manage academics, a sport, and ROTC simultaneously and successfully. You will be surrounded by motivated and inspiring people, you won't be...

Reapplying to USNA (after a turndown)

You sound super-motivated and I trust you will do great things at your chosen university. I am the parent of usna graduates and also have a daughter who is a junior with an army nursing rotc scholarship and playing a DIII sport. She is constantly balancing and managing expectations of coaches...

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

I didn't discover SAF until two of my kids had graduated from usna and my third was considering it. With the first two I never even saw their portal and received all info about their application process directly from them. None of my kids or my alumni husband have ever been here on SAF - it is...

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Absolutely. We have a daughter on 4-year ROTC at a school that is the perfect fit for her. She was not inclined to attend USNA but has found her home and expects to commission next year. Someone just told me this weekend that USNA sent more kids to USUHS in 2023 than before and intends to...

Agree completely. NASS, Inspire, Summer STEM - in my anecdotal analysis - do not translate to USNA appointment.
