Blue Chip is a term that gets used for recruited athletes at the D1 level. USAFA has to compete with other D1 schools who often have scholarship $$ at their disposal, especially for sports like football & basketball. To field competitive teams USAFA has to be able to recruit legitimate D1...

So DD's boots arrived today. Her trying them on, and realizing that this is what it will be was enjoyable to experience. Along the handbook & TS forms etc it is sinking in that in a bit over 4 months she is off is hitting home.

Agree that the call makes it really personal & a very nice attention to detail. DD missed a Friday call from MOC, and portal updated on a Monday with her appointment. Call from MOC came again later that day. She was double-psyched (had already accepted the USAFA appt).

DD received hers on Monday. No LOA but she was blue-chipped so we were pretty comfortable with the process once she easily cleared the standardized test thresholds. Friday AM she received (but did not answer) a call from her MOC.....VM left just saying she had called, so we again were pretty...
